darylgregory
I have recently started to get into this band. And I gotta say, they are AMAZING! Does anybody else here have love for this band? Maybe even see them play before their breakup?
omik11303
Not the biggest fan, but "The Hollowed Out Chest of a Dead Horse" is one of the best songs I've ever heard.
Rip
Really great band.
darylgregory
I was listening to "by the fireplace in white" and my girlfriend told me that it sounded terrible (however she is pregnant and her favorite bands consist of The Decemberists and The Smashing Pumpkins). deletedunknown
Love it, though I hear they were way too messy when they where doing like 9 member shows. The reunion shows were both great, though. Wish I could get my hands on document #5. Years ago I thought $20 was too much for a copy, but since the reunions it's basically been straight $60 every time one pops up. Pygmy Lush carries on the spirit half way with Chris (and his bro?) fronting them. The next album should be huge and noisy. Also really wish I was around to see City of Caterpillar and Stop It!. I love Va's weird hardcore/skramz.
almightyseancore
if you like these guys, check out joshua fit for battle, or city of caterpillar. they will probably be just as appealing to you.
ajxd
My favorite show was when they played in NC sometime in 2002/2003. They club owners were mad at the amount of people/gear on the stage and wouldn't turn on the mics. They said "Oh well everyone knows the words". They opened with "In Love with an Apparition" but the time the quiet part came in the song, they cut the power and cops showed up. Everyone was just screaming "she dies in his arms. Now their love is a floating ghost, as she turns into ashes" during the clapping part. Cops start grabbing kids to get to the stage, and EVERYONE STARTS FIGHTING COPS. Most punk thing I've ever been a part of.
Guest
Never saw them live; thoroughly enjoy their records. Pygmy Lush and City rule, too.

Hence my username. Also, (if you haven't already) definitely check out Orchid, Majority Rule & Love Lost, But Not Forgotten. Was unfortunately never able to see Pg.99 live :/
darylgregory
The thing is I've been listening to a lot of these bands mentioned for quite some time now. I just never heard of PG 99 until recently! I really am not sure why... and that show with the cops sounds awesome!
darylgregory
The only band I can think of at the moment that has the same energy as pg 99 would be Dangers. Dangers played a full set at my house in Vancouver, WA 6 years ago with no microphone, and just like pg 99, everybody knew the lyrics. Good shit. cwhitmuzik
One of their last shows was at the radio station I work out. Cool shit. There's a live video from it too.
6heart6breaker6
like them, but just like every other band with an overwhelming number of albums, i unfortunately have not checked out a majority of their music.
