shorthairedmetal
Visiting London for the first time this summer. Anyone got recommendations for good record shops? I'll mostly be shopping for post-hardcore (90s and 00s) and indie... post rock... stoner rock and stoner metal. ... and generally good music! Thanks for the tips. disconnectrecs
If you like punk stuff you should try out All Ages in Camden. There's a few other small (secondhand) record stores around Camden too. Newer stuff it might be worth a trip on the train down to Banquet Records in Kingston. Probably the one which might have some of the stuff you're after though will be Rough Trade East, which is also one of the biggest. It's near Brick Lane. Might be worth having a look at this for a few other suggestions. Not LOADS of record stores here though unfortunately http://londonist.com/2012/04/top-ten-record-shops.php elnombre91
Korgull Of Morgoth
Berwick Street is the place. Within a 100 meters walk you get a Music Exchange, Revival Records and Sister Ray. There's more Music Exchange shops in Notting Hill and you can also try Flashback in Angel. For more info try this forum @ Discogs http://www.discogs.com/groups/topic/86292

I used to work on Shaftesbury avenue so was 30s seconds from Berwick Street. MVE shops are good if you have time to dig through the bargain sections at times. I've picked up some decent white labels. But there is a lot to sift through.
allenh
Also on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month there is the Spittlefields market record fair which is spitting distance to Rough Trade east. Mostly older stuff but there is usually something interesting there if you have the time to dig.
