Metal Mike
I can't believe no one has started a thread to mourn the passing of a member of Devo. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/devo-guitarist-bob-casale-dead-at-61-20140218 drds89
Guest
Bummertown. I would have posted a thread, but I honestly didn't think anyone here would care. Ok, maybe a handful, but still.

Metal Mike
Bummertown. I would have posted a thread, but I honestly didn't think anyone here would care. Ok, maybe a handful, but still. It saddens me that Phillip Seymour Hoffman, albeit talented, gets five pages here and no one cares about someone who influenced so many bands and artists. Devo are one of the greatest and most underrated bands of all time. Devolution is very real. We're all Devo.
Guest
If Mark Hoppus had died, the board probably would have exploded... Whatever, will be rocking some Are We Not Men tonight.
Metal Mike
Whatever, will be rocking some Are We Not Men tonight. Yeah, that's what I did too. Kids today...
Youinreverse
If I owned an energy dome, is be wearing it in a spirit of mourning right now. R.I.P. Bob

drds89
This is sad news. I was in high school when Devo was doing their thing. We whipped it good. Humans started 'devolving' as soon as we began helping the weak and infirm with modern medicine to be able to live and reproduce, who would have died otherwise. That's my whole life - anti-evolutionary (philosophy deleted, but Devo were all over that stuff). Way ahead of their time... So ignored on these boards - totally expected. IanRees
Very sad news, still bummed I missed them last year at Punk Rock Bowling.
bigbruise
Devo was one of those bands I ignored for a long time, then when I finally listened to them in high school or so, I was surprised that I had actually heard many of their songs before and enjoyed them. I still don't listen to them enough, but I understand their influence on music. They also originated about 2 hours from where I grew up, so that's cool. plasma36
Really sad about this. Devo had a big influence on me throughout middle school. Catchy music and sarcastic lyrics: what more does a 13-year old want? Metal Mike
jhook
When I heard about this yesterday I was bummed. At least I got to see then last year at Punk Rock Bowling.

plasma36
Oh for sure. That's the version I heard first (at least as far as I know) and think it's so much more interesting than the original. anthemforadoomed
