vinyl addict
Haha Deer hide is actually a fantastic slip mat. leather on one side, suede on the other. Eliminated any static issues I was having as well. It also looks great.
donlombardo
So... After some investigation, I've realised, the cheapest I can get a cork mat is about $30, incl. shipping. I've been in contact with a cork factory who says they could make these for me. The least amount they do are 100 and it would cost about $270 which makes it 2.70 a piece. If I then sell them for something like 3 or 5 dollars, I'd break even or do a little profit. Risk worth taking? Are there 99 else interested, you think, in a cheap mat like this? I could sell them in bulk as welll...
ajxd
You're going to end up with about 80 cork mats for the next 10 years.
xxsilence
Unless you're going to do something special to them, I think you're going to end up with a bunch of stock, as ajxd said. I know it's about the price you already stated, but I'm just going to shamelessly plug these custom cork mats from Dan. I ordered one a while back, sent him a custom image and it turned out great. http://tinyurl.com/la35svk edit: thanks aaron, for some reason it kept adding a space to the end of the link and breaking it, no matter what I tried. updated to a condensed link to see if that fixes it. aarondltd
Just got one of these and so far it seems great. Cheap and simple. The hole is centered didn't look very pro and it smells but that is supposed to go away. They sell it 2 thicknesses and I needed the thick one. They will even cut custom sizes smaller if you ask them. I even noticed someone asking to have one custom made for a rising 45 adapter. No extra charge. About $15 shipped. http://www.amazon.com/Turntable-Toys-TC-1-Audiophile-Vibrations/dp/B00JD38XDQ/

aarondltd
Describe this smell. Cork I would guess but that was straight out of the plastic it shipped in. I don't even notice it now and it should be gone over time.
