plasma36
https://store.nosleeprecords.com/product/7176/come-on-wandering-lp Kite Party's new record, Come On Wandering, is an album born from the transplant experience. Started in 2007 in Tamaqua, PA, Kite Party have resided in Philadelphia for the past six years through lineup changes and all that 18-24 year old stuff one goes through. With a sound that splits the difference between a youth spent listening to NOFX and Rancid and an early adulthood spent listening to talk radio, Kite Party write layered, atmospheric, driving songs about feeling off with most things most of the time. Songs like Bell, Supervillain, and Planet Away are propelled forward by a three-guitar attack while tracks like Half-Life and Nest rely on a tight rhythm section and ephemeral keyboard sounds. Lyrical topics range from losing friends to drug abuse to the banality of doing laundry and back again.Recommended for fans of The National who still like to skateboard, couples who watch the Royal Tenenbaums and the Fugazi documentary on the same date night, and anyone who wishes that maybe The Replacements had kind of been a shoegaze band.Pressing Info-100 Black-200 White-200 Seafoam Green Out on 5/6 Listen to a new song here: http://www.stereogum.com/1671365/kite-party-halflife-stereogum-premiere/mp3s/ Listen to their first album, "Baseball Season," here: http://animalstylerecords.bandcamp.com/album/baseball-season

mesi
I'm still trying to really "get" into the first album. It's nice and all, but it just does not grab me as much as I would want it to. Still going to check out the stream though.

Still going to check out the stream though.I had the opposite experience. I fell in love with it instantly an still listen to it regularly. I'd say it's actually one of my favorite albums. With that said, I'm eagerly anticipating this.
hipsterasfolk
Love this band, always wonder why they are not "record store playlist" material.....their sound is superior to 90% of that pop-indie crap they play at stores :/ Kite Party <

mesi
So this came out some 2 weeks ago, anyone got the record in already? Curious to see how this looks. Also, does anyone know of a european distro that carries this?
scott_c
I pre-ordered from No Sleep, but I haven't received anything yet or heard any kind of updates. The band sent out the digital files a week or two ago.
matt
These should be shipping already. European distros will probably have these over the next week.

gutzonborglum
Was there a delay on these? Has anyone received their copy yet? Edit: just heard back from customer service. They said these just came in last week and are starting to go out now. I got a shipping notice about thirty seconds later.

gutzonborglum
I've been listening to this record for the past three days straight. Can't recommend it enough. I love this record. A really nice progression from 'Baseball Season'. This has been tag teamed with Three Man Cannon's 'Pretty Many People' constantly. twincinema
