GRAHAM REPULSKI "The Photographer is Upset" lathe cut 5 inch 
Prolific lofi, bedroom pop project Graham Repulski is back at it again with two quick jabs of of hiss laden infectious indie rock. It is hard to keep up with the constant flow of output but for those tuned in have been treated to absolutely joyous tunes that should strike a chord with anyone who is interested in Guided By Voices or anything Pollard related for that matter. This is the second Graham Repulski release on Rok Lok, with the first being the "Success Racist" cassette which was released in 2015. "The Photographer is Upset" is a limited edition lathe cut 5 inch that is released in an edition of 20. Each lathe cut is housed in a chipboard arigato pak with custom collage artwork-no two paks are alike and stamped labels as well as an insert. ANEVAYBLUE "Trails" cassette 
Over the course of six songs Anevayblue takes the listener on a hypnotic, swirling journey through soundscapes where time almost stands still. There is the sense of longing, nostalgia, and just simply being offered by the hiss laden, reverb soaked bedroom shoegaze captured on Anevyablue's latest release "Trails". Stepping out from behind his usual role as a drummer for bands such as Shojo Winter and Crisis Arm, all six of this songs were written and performed by Kevin McVey. Using Anevyablue as vehicle for aural and visual expression, McVey is able to capture snap shot ideas of sorts life whether it is the most grandiose of dreams or the minutiae of the day to day rigor- it is all a process and "Trails" is one such documentation of those experiences. "Trails" is limited to an edition of 40 white clamshell cassettes with a full color printed labels and beautiful full color glossy j-cards. LOVE LETTER "A Very Young Mountain" cassette 
We last heard from Love Letter with 2015's "Collecting Loss" lathe cut 10 inch which saw the project implement a greater emphasis on vocal arrangements and what I have often referred to as a brand of lofi bedroom "lullaby pop", however, with this new release the project continues to veer into new sonic territories. "A Very Young Mountain" takes the hypnotic, reverb soaked guitar humming of the first two releases but crosses it with more of a field recording, patchwork approach to create a truly organic collection of sounds. Washes of furiously strummed guitar melodies, that bend within a multitude of colorfully shaped tones enveloped within a wall of sound that as it unfolds illustrates in mind perfectly the long journey of growth that a young mountain embarks on to one day reach the heavens-and we are all mountains or have the ability to be. "A Very Young Mountain" is simultaneously the sound of discovery, innocence, solace, longing, reflection, and transcendence all communicated through the canvas of sprawling post rock "anthems" of sorts. For fans of Godspeed You Black Emperor, Azusa Plane, Paper Armies and Mariposa.
