Selling my Music Hall mmf 5.1 turntable. It's the piano black finish and has the screw-down record clamp and the acrylic platter upgrade. Also includes a Pro-Ject Speed Box S to switch between 45 and 33rpm, and a simple BBE phono preamp. Plays well, sounds fantastic. No original box.
$500 for everything and I'll cover the shipping. I think that seems fair, considering the $250ish worth of upgrades an accessories, but I'm open to offers. Not interested in any trades, though.
Paypal, please.

I'd probably buy it at $90 if it included all the original artwork, but the redesigned sleeves just don't do anything for me. I'd say like $70 is about the most I'd be willing to part with for it, and I'm in no hurry to do that.

Yeah honestly with all the lp packages I get (a lot) ive only had 3 issues over the last year with them. Unfortunately they've all been big problems when they do happen. My mail guy is pretty cool and I've never had an issue with him personally. He even knows not to ring the doorbell if its between the hours of 1-3 because he knows that's my kids nap time. He always knocks very lightly during those hours. Seriously that's really awesome that he remembers that.
Haha, that's rad. About half the time I run into my mail carrier down the block when I'm on the morning dog walk and he just gives me my stuff there. And he knows not to ring the doorbell when he drops packages off because my dog flips out at the sound of the doorbell.

I'm keeping an eye on it and waffling, but I'm afraid it's right at my absolute high end right now, even with a few hours left, so I'm almost positive I won't be winning it. =[

Uh... what? That's the same pressing that I have, and I paid like $35 for it a few years ago.
-
I figure it was, but it's still a $30 premium over the (still available) set directly from Clearview.
-
Well, it didn't take long for box sets to appear on Ebay.

It's been resolved. Peacefully.
That's good to hear. You overcame your hockey differences and everything.

Look guys, if neither party insures it, you're not getting money from the post office.
That said, a gentlemanly thing to do is to split the loss, especially since...
A) The buyer was willing to put so much trust in the deal to send the payment as a gift.
And
It doesn't sound like the seller OFFERED insurance that the buyer turned down specifically.
It's up to you guys to decide how to resolve it, but maybe both of you take this as a reminder to ALWAYS insure packages that are worth more than an hour's pay for you. As a buyer OR a seller.

the manager of my branch offered to reimburse me out of his pocket, but wanted to meet and give me the money at coffee shop - also he left a couple creepy voice mails ("let's hook up and get this resolved"), so I said screw it, and took the loss.
Holllllllly shit, that is skeevy.

Got my copy ordered. SO EXCITED for this.

I gotta admit, I'm almost more jazzed for the packaging than the actual music. I mean, I've got all these mp3s, and only have like 3 of them on vinyl, so it'll be nice to have the rest on vinyl, but the work that went into the package design just sounds goddamn fantastic. Only like 9 hours to go!

I mean, by all means try to work shit out before jumping to leave negative feedback, but at this point, you'd be doing the rest of the community (who may not monitor this thread closely) a huge disservice by NOT leaving that dude some bad feedback.
-
I was also wondering that. Combined with the fact that he said the tie-dyed ones would only be sold through Clearview, it sounds like the odds of getting a tie-dye are 1 in 3, which is prettttttty good. Bue even the fluorescent colors sound rad anyway.
-
Haha. I totally believe you, but I'm still ordering first thing in the morning tomorrow!
-
I'm just always paranoid about missing out on preorders for things I reeeeeeeeally want.
-
So the preview goes live at Clearview on Monday, right? Is there an exact time? I've got the day off, thankfully.
-
Fuuuuck. So excited. And so glad this is going up for sale before my vacation.

All I can say is that every time someone has messaged me on VC totally out of the blue to offer an extremely rare record I'm looking for it has always ended up being a scam.
-
I would say selling "burned cd's" on the internet is quite ballsy.
They're "backups", geez.

idreamofpunk organised some Bosstones records for me. I'm in Australia and these reks were not available to me through the label. She has been a total legend throughout the whole process, when she coulda just not even bothered with it.
Remember the name : idreamofpunk = LEGEND!
I probably mentioned before, but I just wanted to chime in and agree. She has been totally awesome in a number of transactions. idreamofpunk is damn good people.
