I started furiously refreshing my browser at 1, and managed to get a copy of both Mellow Gold and Odelay. Beck is the only musician I would do this for.

Nobody interested in that Flaming Lips record?  it's a crazy one.  The original release was a four CD set that you had to play simultaneously to hear the full song(s).  I never make it out to RSD on time to get any of the good stuff, but I will definitely check that out this year.

So you didn't like "In Rainbows"? Or do you just like this more?

 

I LOVE In Rainbows, but it took a few listens for me to fully appreciate it.  It has one of my favorite Radiohead songs in general on it (All I Need).  I never really got to that level with TKOL, though.  I like it, but it's not their best.  I just took to AMOK instantly, which makes me wonder if me liking it so much will last, as people above have mentioned.

I enjoyed it more than TKOL on first listen too. Unfortunately subsequent listens have gone in reverse order for me. TKOL blew my mind after about the 4th listen whereas AMOK is starting to lose a little bit of my attention, the more I hear it. I still think its a pretty great album though. Just not on TKOL's level anymore, IMO.

 

I am feeling that this might happen too.

After a few listens through this album is wonderful.  I connect with it immediately, unlike the last few Radiohead albums which took a few listens to get warm up to.  Might be my favorite Radiohead related thing since Kid A.

The Deluxe 2LP is still $30 on the US XL Recordings website...why would you want to pay more?  Plus, if you are in the US and order, shipping is free (if you select media mail).....I just pre-ordered it along with the Judge, Jury & Executioner 12"

 

Media mail is ~$5 for me.  How do you get free shipping?

What about the In Rainbows box disappointed you? Just curious, I've always been bummed I missed out on it. 

 

I guess I wrote that wrong.  I started buying all the Radiohead deluxe stuff starting with In Rainbows and haven't been disappointed yet.

Just wanted to clarify that there's definitely a UK version of the deluxe and a US version. The UK version includes a CD and the US does not. Otherwise, it seems similar. Packaging could be different. If the UK version is limited to 3000, it's just the UK version. Not sure about the US version.

 

It does appear to be slightly different, but the Amazon listing for the US edition says it's limited to 3,000 as well, so I went for it.  I haven't been disappointed in a Radiohead related deluxe edition since In Rainbows, so no stopping now.
