thanks for the help....went and ordered the rp6 (£550 bargain) and think i will just go down the exact route for now...then play around with upgrading it when my budget recovers......

is £255 the best price for the exact?

ummm still looking...do you think the rega Exact 2 cartridge...is worth £250? or would i do better going for another catridge plus would have to buy spacers and probs a lower profile counterweight? (hood issues)??

that be my next purchase....my yamaha amp has a phono option little quite...but looking at the Pro-Ject Tube Box ll...after i gain a budget again.

yeah comes from a store with a 24 month warranty. was thinking its a bargain...slight seconds(bit of concern)

 anyway hearing bad reviews of the Elys cart but that could be just personal taste i guess?

how does it compair to the orfoton blue or mp-150?

 also if i went down the rp6 route would i need spacers for the above cartridges?

rega says.......

 

Rega as a rule do not believe in use of spacers to correct VTA.

There rule is if the cartridge measures more than 16 mm from top cartridge body to stylus tip, a spacer could be used, however not required.
