  1. Tom just posted this on twitter/ instagram

"To all the fans, I never quit the band. I actually was on a phone call about a blink 182 event for New York City at the time all these weird press releases started coming in... Apparently those releases were 'sanctioned' from the band. Are we dysfunctional- yes. But, Christ..... #Awkward #BabyBackRibs"

  2. I can't believe how poorly UO handles their vinyl. I was in one in Washington DC and the racks were jam packed and most of the records were bent or damaged. I was able to find 4 awesome records in the sale section for $5 each (marked down to $10 each + half off clearance items promotion)  that weren't that damaged. The moral of the story is… Yes, these store are not ideal to enter BUT you can find some cool stuff so it's probably worth it.

Saw this for the first time today and I don't think I'll ever buy from Urban Outiftters. Crosleys. Everywhere. and so much cringe when I noticed that they placed records on the crosleys for display and they were covered in so much dust. A fine layer of dust was sitting on those records and I had to walk out.

  3. Not to be a dick (guess there's no way this question can be asked without coming off as one), but why exactly don't you just ban the individual users derailing the blink thread?  There was actually some decent discussion happening occasionally, but when the idiots came in you guys just locked the thread (which is what they wanted you to do.  They had no interest in the releases and just wanted to mess with people who had what they considered to be juvenile music tastes, so, congratulations, they won).  You punish users using the boards correctly and the jackasses who caused the issues laugh and move on.

Point being, the releases are popular enough that the discussion really shouldn't take place in a generic Hot Topic thread, as it'll probably get overrun with Blink posts.  I don't see why you guys have to lock a thread instead of warning and banning problem posters.  Some of them even had pretty decent feedback ratings so I think they would've taken the threat of a ban pretty seriously if they knew they'd have to start from square one again.  I know I would, and my feedback rating is tiny.

Apologies for being (somewhat) off topic, but it'd sure be nice to know exactly what the rationale is there.

Exactly man... I was always looking forward to updates on Blink news from that thread. It was getting worse having my inbox flooded with notifications by those jerks and their nonsense, they should have just been warned and or banned instead of locking the whole thing. Now how will actual interested users get our updates for the rest of the series besides having to sort through a general Hot Topic thread?

  4. You had the chance. Isn't it ultimately your fault that you weren't 1st in line? Or should you have someone else to blame for your tardiness? 30th person in line should have in no way expected to have received one of these in the first place, considering most stores had maybe 1 copy.

This is also ignoring the fact that this very website (and others) had the link to purchase the boxset posted for hours (not seconds or minutes but HOURS).

Whenever a company/band/artist/etc... sells something limited and there's far more demand than supply, there is ALWAYS bitching after the sellout. If you don't like the bitching, don't sell limited shit. Simple as that.

Not everyone can just drop what they're doing and line up 18 hours in advance for releases like that. If the store had limited to one per person then it probably wouldn't have sold out so quick since everyone in front walked out with 2 or 3 copies.

  5. What was the price you guys paid for the 7" boxset? The store I went to said they didn't even bother ordering either version. I was trying to find an online store who might have had a left over box set but I had no luck with that so unfortunately I had to get it on eBay... I've been seeing listings for $120, $150, Someone bought one I had my eye on for $99 and I won an auction for $76.

  6. What I think is unfair about the "diehard fans" who want to feel special and are asking for a black repress is that they might have been standing in line for HOURS while others might not have had that chance. I was considering it for RSD but the store I went to apparently allowed people to walk out with multiple copies... I was about 30th in line or so and saw the first 10-15 people walk out with multiple box sets. How is that fair for the other fans who did what they could and got on line when their schedules allowed only to be told they sold out a few minutes ago? Keep them colored and slap a second pressing or a "NON RSD 2014" label somewhere. If Cake presses them on colored vinyl again doesn't take away the fact that you spent hours on line. Keep the RSD 2014 sticker on your packaging if you want and let everyone have a fair chance at owning these albums on this format...
