My copy of TP arrived with a gash on side B.

I've never received a new(and expensive) record in such condition.

After I provided the photo above, I had to return at my expense.

Was told I needed to wait 2 or 3 months for a new pressing.

Replacement copy didn't have a scratch but was still very disappointing.

    Style over substance.

Same audio quality issue with FWWM, as mentioned.

My Mondo experiences were pretty awful but damn do I want The Devil's Candy.

    Rant over.

Is there a way to know if certain Mondo releases will be available from other retailers in the future?

Most Mondo releases are available from other retailers in standard black editions.   My copies of TP & FWWM were both excellent with no sound issues.  I guess there were a few bad copies around but generally their releases sound great.

Yup, ordered 3 records when they did the $10 flat rate shipping a couple weeks ago and got dinged $19.45 in customs fees.
Final time I'm ordering anything from Mondo sent to Canada.

I'm getting charges on almost everything from mondo to the UK at the moment, seriously considering not ordering anymore.  I even got charged for replacement jackets that I requested though they did refund me when i emailed them about it.  Not sure what's going on but it seems to be happening much more than usual.

Out of curiosity, what were some of last/most recent releases you did enjoy? I feel as though as Mondo has grown, they have largely left the more niche stuff to other labels and focussed on larger, more widely marketable properties that appeal to a broader group of collectors the way Ghibli or JP did. The horror and cult films done in house seem to be Death Waltz releases and those done outside the Mondo umbrella are often distributed by them. I think there's still as much interesting stuff on the Mondo site as ever; maybe more. However a lot of it is being done by other folks. Meanwhile, I'd wager a lot more people know who Mondo is thanks to BTTF, BTAS, Disney properties, and the like.

The last ones i liked were BTTF & Black Swan, most of the recent ones just don't do it for me. I'm looking at labels like Waxwork & they are killing it at the moment. Hopefully they have good stuff in the pipeline.

I don't know about you guys, but don't you all feel like Mondo has taken less money from everyone here these days? Feels like I used to spring for everything they had. Don't think I've bought a product since Turbo Kid. Besides Twin Peaks, (maybe Alien if it's out there still) there's nothing that grabs at me like they used to.

I have to agree that a lot of the product lately doesn't excite me too much, i'd rather they release less records but of better quality like they used to.
