  1. Wasn't there two versions of the 59' sound? Also, the tumbling dice 7" is split up differently. Makes the orignal worth it I guess. I didn't even know half of the shit in this boxset even existed.

There were indeed two The '59 Sound. The original had Even Cowgirls Get The Blues as the b-side and the re-release had the version of State of Love and Trust included here. The majority of those KEXP tracks (American Slang, Boxer, Antonia Jane and Queen of Lower Chelsea) were from a radio session that Brian did in 2010 that's been available online since. They were later as a bonus cd (along with She Loves You and Tumbling Dice) on an Australian release of American Slang at some point too.

It's weird to me that they're releasing the American Slang era singles on vinyl now when none of them were actually pressed back then.

  3. That 7" probably won't be all that limited though. I would think there's atleast 1000 members in the fan club. Wouldn't be surprised if there were 2000. Gaslight's a pretty big band these days.

someone that received their membership package a month ago got a number in the low 2000s. so not that limited at all but that won't stop people that missed out from overpaying for it.
  4. Yeah, you are right. NPR stream started 7/10. It was really close. I had the order wrong in my head, though.

Biloxi, Here Comes Your Man, and 45 were all available before the Fan Club (I believe. I won't say definitely again).

The NPR stream started on 7/16. I went to the St Louis show on 7/13 and it hadn't leaked then. I'm still shocked that they were able to keep things under wraps until a week before the release.

45 and the live versions of Biloxi were out well in advance. Here Comes My Man (and the You Got Lucky cover) was inadvertently streaming on their website on 6/22 and then removed within 24 hours. It was played live a few times after that before the stream was available.

  5. Whats annoying is that P+P continually puts up pre-orders way to early and they're unorganized...resulting in a one year delay. Just put up the pre-orders 3 days before they're ready to ship so we could avoid these headache. Learn from Chunksaah and Animal Style. I really want my damn records!

    This.

It was bad enough when they put the pre-order up in late Jan claiming the records would ship in late Feb. Now it's April and they're still waiting on the vinyl from the pressing plant. They haven't sent out any sort of update in a month and it sounds like they've ignored inquiries about they delay made by a few people in this thread. Won't fall for this again.

  6. from davehause.com

Dave Hause learned to craft a memorable song in his long running Philadelphia punk/rock and roll band THE LOVED ONES. On his first solo full length record “Resolutions”, he takes all the catchiness of his previous efforts and brings along ALL of his musical influences as a songwriter, destroying the mold of punk singer gone solo. Dave branches out musically and moves and shakes all the preconceived notions away on “Resolutions”.

Pre-order of the album through Paper + Plastick begins today, with CDs shipping on February 8th and vinyl shipping on February 22. Vinyl comes in three variations — red/orange marble, black with red/orange splash, and half black/half red-orange, all for just $12! Each purchase comes with an instant download of the entire album. Expect to see “Resolutions” in stores and on iTunes February 1.

Available now at http://store.paperandplastick.com/products/7515. Each color is /333.
