what brew are you doing?

are you doing an all grain, extract or partial mash (grain with extract) brew?

I do a partial mash and use an old 20(?) qt pressure cooker. so I make a high gravity 2.5 or 3 gal. batch and then add water in the fermenter to make a 5 gal batch. having the sealed lid makes the boil come to temperature really quickly on the stove....

but i'm about to convert a 15.5 gal. keg into a boil pot and start doing all grain batches. you can get kegs for less than $100 on ebay. I've heard if you live close to a brewery you can buy their old scratch and dents. Keeping a keg and losing the deposit is illegal so make sure your buddy's name is on the deposit slip if you do that.

thanks, i've been brewing for about 5 years now, and it's one of my favorite things to do. i'm trying to find out how i can cut down on the brewing costs. it seems like prices have gone up and now making an a batch is about the same as buying it from the store.

there's-got-to-be-a-better-way!

little more than one of them days left!

i had a guy flake on a godspeed f#a# infinty record a couple months ago. he couldn't afford the 12 buck he bid on it on ebay. i'll sell it to you for 12 ppd to the us. excellent condition, played only a handful of times, all inserts (including the train crushed penny) present and accounted for.
