  1. I put a Christian Death Only Theater Of Pain LP and a My Jerusalem Preachers LP in my cart on Amazon and it came out to $31 something. 2 dollars short of $35 for free shipping and I searched all dam afternoon for something cheap I could add and nothing. So all that stuff just sits in my cart. I'm sad.

I initially had Fleetwood Rumours in place of My Jerusalem but found it was a single disc and not 180.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

I'll sleep on it and decide maybe I'll have better luck searching out in Abq this weekend.

  2. i noticed that as well in my rookie year. dont even think about saying 'picked up one for my friend but he didnt want it' as that wont go over well. the 'collective' tag for this site means many things, including the collections and joy some find in collecting them all. labels are now aware that pretty records sell. you can have a /500 splatter for $5 more sell faster than the black 180 gram for $5 less. just up to you. its your money and taste. if you collect anything in general or like to have sets of things, chances are youll be wearing the 'variant club' jacket in no time.

I wear that jacket for my friends bands and albums I am utterly in love with only.

Yea that seems plausible. I could become a collecting junkie. Searching for the Holy Grail in every crate. I do at the moment have a mental list I try to keep. But it seems once I touch a crate that list seems to become so vague that I cannot remember what I was looking for in the first place.for the most part, I seem to prefer finding things in the wild then to go to a website or the actual band's website or anywhere else it may be easier to obtain. The allure of it is to say "ahhh" or "ohhhh dammm" and feel happy about myself for finding something. That aspect is probably more addicting than the actual ownership. maybe I just need a girlfriend to fill in those boring moments. Haha

  3. I'm new to VC and one thing I've noticed is that everyone that sells seems to be selling some of the same records, example; circa survive, pelican, pig destroyer, against me, etc etc. Or tons of the same record of different pressings, reissues, reissues of reissues. Personally, I'm just looking for stuff that I want to spin and enjoy. I don't have a problem with anyone else's collecting habits, I'm just wondering if I'm going to end up hoarding like that in the very near future.

Thank you for your advice!  I only realized that until after I posted that I should be a lot more detailed. I suppose I should add the particular presses, but for now I'm just looking to obtain any presses as I won't be looking to resell or collect based on future pricing or demand.  I'm just looking to listen to some of my favorite bands and enjoy them at a cost that is less than what these professional resellers or price gougers are sell them for. it seems lots of people hate eBay on here.  I'm in that same boat.

  5. New to this LP (12") collecting thing. Don't have anything really to trade so I'm just looking to buy at this time.

(edit: Sorry if I confused anyone.  I initially posted this from my phone and editing from there proved to be a b*tch. I tried to add the album titles to the particular artists I was wanting to buy.)

Peter Murphy - Deep, Cascade, Holy Smoke, Ninth, Lion, Mr Moonlight
Sonic Youth - Goo, Sister, Daydream Nation, Dirty, Rather Ripped, Experimental Jet Set, Hits Are For Squares
    Weirdos - Condor
7 Seconds - Live: 1 Plus 1, New Wind, Walk Together, Rock Together
Christian Death - Only Theatre Of Pain, Iron Mask
Opeth - Deliverance, Heritage, Damnation, Ghost Reveries
The Mission - Gods Own Medicine, The Brightest Light

Hit me up if you're willing to sell. Just starting so I'm not trying to do eBay prices here. Haha
