  1. My Dad and I were having a couple drinks last night, and in his infinite wisdom he gave me some very good, comforting encouragemnet that mcain won't win: America will never elect a president and vice president from Arizona and Alaska.

all redicoulousness aside, if we do somehow manage to elect grandpa time, i will give up on this damn country once and for all.

  2. BUMP.

I guess we can turn this thread into a actual white whale slain thread.

just got We are the Romans on black for 60 dollars, not the best steal, but still nothing to sneaze over since iv'e wanted it for a couple years now, and finally it was within my college student budget! Can't say that i'll be getting a biology book this semester though...:P

    Anyone else?

  3. Well, i think the challenge nolan faces if he wants to go through with the riddler idea would be to give the riddler an intense amount of "reason" to his acts. whereas the joker is just chaos, the riddler would have to be a genius, having EXTREMLY elaborate schemes, at least more elaborate then quadruple crossing all of your henchman in a bank robberry ( which i think he could accomplish after seeing memento last night). i think Nolan might toy around with the idea of everybody (from assasins to hitmen) hunting down batman, and the riddler would be contracted to find batman and pshychologically fuck with him..

and he woulf have to be ten times mor methodical the jigsaw, the dude from saw.

i for one think hugh laurie ( house m.d.) would be perfect for the riddler.

  4. you guys are thinking small. ive come up with three wildly different takes they could do with the sequel.

    -first off, the easy out.

Its no secret that daniel day-lewis is an incredible actor, and him dedicating his oscar to ledger i think is some sort of nod to him... maybe he'll either take the joker role or become the riddler.

-then we have a character a little bit more interesting, ventriloquist and scarface. to those who dont know him, hes basically a villian with split personalities, and in the tone of the nolan batman's he would fit perfectly with the audience wondering in suspense if the puppet is actually sentient or not... agian, daniel day-lewis looks like the only actor skilled enough to play someone with multiple personalities.

    - then theres one last villian that could be made, albeit a little less realistic, and that would be clayface. theres been a couple different versions of him, but i think the animated series one was the best. since in that incarnation of him he was force-fed expiramental make-up, nolan could easily have him burned alive in a car or something with that expiramental makeup fusing with his skin because of the intense heat, making his skin into.. i dont know, something.

    just some thoughts.

  5. okay, since i haven't seen this yet, i need a couple of answers(im watching it on tues.)

    1) since the dude from frasier (frasiers brother) isn't doing the voice for abe anymore, did dug jones still do a preety good job?

2)and how did seth mcfarlane do with the voice of kraus? sound anything at all like stewie or brian?

  6. hmm.. in all honesty i didn't think this thread would last as long as it did.

-weed doesn't make everyone tired, just people who are more prone to being lazy. i love going on hikes or climbing while i'm lit.

-booze+weed equals nirvana, it's just overdoing it on the booze part that'll make you sorry.

-and it's just like any other excess, if you have an addictive personality type, odds are that you might overdue it.

Does anyone have a schedule or, let's say a 3day waiting period? in other words, how do you guys pace yourself?
