The master on this is really REALLY weird. At least it is on the version I downloaded from their bandcamp a few months back. The piano and some of the other instruments are way softer than what I expected. Compare the two songs on the Diggin' 7" to the versions on the album if you want to know what I mean. I really want to like this but the master kills it for me.
This is interesting, because the early EP versions of the Wild Orchid Childrens songs as compared to the LP versions for Alexander Supertramp are also completely different.
I really don't like it personally. I think they turned some really great tracks into over-reverbed crap.

Yay! Finally! Ordered!

I'd buy it if it were pressed. Have WIITB already.

Holy shit.
Finally got to see Kay Kay and his Weathered Underground last night. Would never have gotten into these guys if it weren't for VC.
What in incredible show. They sound absolutely perfect in every way. Kirks voice is just like the album in every way. A little disappointed they didn't have a trumpet player with them but they certainly made up for it. They absolutely exploded on "Birds" and "Bowie" These guys are some real musicians. It was 100% worth missing the first 2 periods of the Hawks game for that.
Really hope they get around to releasing the new album soon because I'm going nuts waiting.

Met Steve the other night when they were in Chicago. Killer show (as always, 5th time I've seen them.) He is a nice guy. One of the most talented multi-instrument musicians I've ever seen! Good to see him holding Kay Kay's S/T!

Such nice dudes. So happy to be performing and seemingly just as excited to meet their fans as their fans are to meet them.

So I saw them at Lollapalooza yesterday and brought my jacket from the US pre-ordered version to get signed. I really want to buy this but I can't justify buying it again...and i'm not going to sell the one that I got signed.
John Baldwin Gourley asked me where I got it though and I heard Ryan say to Zach that he hadn't even seen it on wax yet...

Oh, I get it now. You are so misunderstood. Let's be best friends.
-
I honestly don't know why that guy even posts.
-
I concur. Do it.

No there are black and then the blue (which was supposed to be transparent originally)

Every message board has that awesome token Belgian. We have one on the Lolla boards.
-
Yeah it would be cool if Progress was on vinyl.
-
Yeah it was pretty expensive. I talked to some other people on the RX boards and they are still in Zona too. Mine was there for a few days. I'm sure yours will go out soon. It is worth the wait.

Sorry about the crappy lighting. Not much of a photog.

I'll post pics of my entire RxB collection once I get mine (which should be today)
-
Um...good for you? You need to find something better to do with your time than sit there "smiting" me over and over again.

My tracking still says its in Arizona after 3 days.

I was hoping to post the pre-order for these with the pre-order for It's Complicated, but they could not get get me all the necessary info due to some pressing issues. I will email them now and see if we can make it happen for one of the next 2 weeks. those look amazing.
And know that I asked management recently what was up with Majestic Majesty. How rad would it be if we did a 7" from each song with the a-side being hte rock version, the b-side being the acoustic version. Or do a series of those concentric groove 8 inches where each side had both versions. Discuss!!
Amazing enough that I'd be tempted to take out a loan.
Do you mean like parallel groves for the 8"?

AAAAHHHHH. I WANT.

Don't worry...in 3 days mine has made it from one sorting facility in Arizona to another sorting facility in Arizona. I have a feeling this might take a while...
PO (final wave 12/14) - Little Elephant Living Room Sessions
in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Posted · Edited by garpo3000
Long long time since I last read or posted on VC. Mainly because spending time on here resulted in spending money I didn't have. Just wanted to chime in...
Received my TTNG lathe in the mail today. The session sounds great on Youtube and the digital versions they sent, but I'm pretty underwhelmed by the quality of the record. Listening on a B&O Beogram and my Audioengine A5+ speakers and it sounds like I'm streaming something from Myspace circa 2004. It's a cool collectors item, cool packaging, cool concept. Really appreciate what Little Elephant is doing. But if high-fidelity listening is the purpose I feel like this is missing the mark entirely.
