I do have a compression pedal, and a distortion pedal which are able to taper off the treble and base as I need.

 

I'm thinking playing with these and exercising caution with volumes should hopefully be sufficient.

Heh, I completely missed the Phones jack on the Toshiba amp. Cool, that makes sense then, thanks! I'll leave the setup open to suggestions from people though, as I'm looking to progressively upgrade components.

Basically I have a basic inherited turntable/receiver/passive speaker setup that is hooked up like this:

And the sound is nice and working well.

Now to integrate with other audio sources in the house, I'd like to utilize the amplifier and speaker combo for my TV, my guitar (for messing about a bit with sounds), as well as allow capability to listen to all these sources conveniently through headphones. After some basic research I've come up with the following setup to facilitate all this:

Will this work? And do you guys have any further suggestions or recommendations for equipment/hardware? I'm an audiophile when it comes to creating music, but I'm just budding into stereo systems and such.
