  1. I'm not claiming to know more than someone that works there. All I was saying is that based on the #s it doesn't seem like they'll be super easy to come by and they might sell out pretty quick. In fact his post earlier today proves my point. He posted a list of over 200 stores they went out to. So that's an average of about 3 copies per store, which is probably less because according to him they're selling them through the online store as well.

Your making assumptions that the record is going to sell out at ALL the stores and the website when in fact there are some store that still have left overs from the first run.

You're probably right, but what good are leftover records in Washington if you live in Florida? Maybe I overestimated the value of these limited pressings, but I guess time will tell.

  2. will be winning and then not paying with one of my many fake accounts.

Wow, I feel really sorry for you if you actually do all that out of spite. It'll be worth it on both ends then, I get the pleasure of knowing I'm getting under your skin enough to waste your time with it. Sure, you'll be wasting my time, but I'll still have a collectible record at the end of it. You'll have your callous ego.

  3. Wait, so is this $20 really cost derivative? What if we're not considering that you got these on some random clearance sale at HT. What if you paid only $5 at the 50% off 50% sale? Therefore, $20 isn't in reality the true value of these flipping records. What if you paid $5 and you stand to make $15 dollars in the black (after the original cost of $5). Then, your profit margin has increased three fold. I think we're going to need to see a receipt.

Finally, someone who's actually funny instead of a pretentious cry baby.

  4. The best part of this thread was that he was arguing with Travis about Hot Topic and how well the records are selling.

Agreed but what does Travis know when it comes to HT? ???

    JOKING!!!!!

  5. It is COST. 14.99 plus 6% sales tax puts it at $16 plus $4 shipping = $20

I have extra copies of these. all $25 shipped

Not sure what your point is? You are correct, I am asking $25 shipped. I was making the point that I was only asking for $5 over cost and the person was arguing that $20 was not cost. Pay attention!

  6. How about this? $25 shipping included. That's only $5 over actual cost. I think that's a pretty fair shake. I'd sell it for the exact cost of $20 shipped but I'm not in the habit of doing favors for complete strangers, if I was, I'd help people in need and NOT record collectors. This offer won't extend to anyone who has posted negative comments here.

  7. hahahaha

No one buy these, theres still 400-500+ copies of every single one of these available and they havent even gone up on HT.com yet.

Plus in like 2 months you will be able to get them on ebay for like $20 or less

considering there are almost 700 Hot Topic stores nationwide you might get lucky and find a copy or 2 at your local store, or maybe not. I also can't see how with all those stores and the fact that they're going to sell them on the website that it'll be anywhere as close to as easy as you make it seem. Good luck all. If you want a copy and you're ok with paying double, you'll know where you can find a copy.

  8. I have extra copies of these. all $25 shipped

    Descendents "Everything Sucks" on blue

Bouncing Souls "Hopeless Romantic" on orange

Dropkick Murphys "The Gangs All Here" on red

    -------------------

Due to the hard time I've been given on here I've changed the prices a bit. If you want any of them PM me. I'm only asking $5 over my cost and I'll obviously combine shipping if you want more than one. This offer will not extended to 90% of the people below that had something negative to say.

  9. i think like most other bands, the market ebbs and flows. two years ago, most people may not have cared about a gamits record. hell, i picked up their first ep in a dollar bin, but now that they have this new record out, people are bound to be more interested in picking up/getting rid of their older releases for their collections or for profit.

I guess upon re-reading my ebay post, I did make it sound like I thought it was absolutely nuts that the record went for that cheap. I don't think it's crazy that it sold for that much, I just think it would have easily sold for 2 or 3 times as much if they had listed it as an auction instead of buy it now.

  10. A blue copy just sold on Ebay for 8.99 at a BUY IT Now price!!!!! I'm guessing that person had no idea what they were selling.

No disrespect meant here, but it's not like this is a rare Misfits record (or insert band with weird rare and expensive records) where they didn't know what they had...it's a rare, but valueless record.

There's a thousand bands from every city that have old rare records that are impossible to find, but are completely valueless...this is one of those records. Color Vinyl or not there's probably dozens of these out in the world that have been sitting in dusty record shops for a decade that the stores couldn't give away if they wanted to.

If that ebay seller had put that LP up for $49.99 as a buy it now, they would never have sold it.

I think you're severely underestimating the band and their fans (which you're obviously not). It went up and was sold in less then a few hours. The one that was on ebay back in April sold for $30 and the only reason it didn't sell for more is because people didn't notice it until it was too late (myself included). When I contacted the seller and asked if he would cancel the auction and sell it to me for $40, he told me that I was the second person to make that same offer. So, I'll agree that a buy it now of $49.99 might sit for a while, but it would certainly sell and a lot faster than you might think.

I'm not even sure I understand your logic or why you would post what you did? Collectibles are only worth what people will pay for them. So it sounds to me like you just wanted to voice your opinion that a limited pressing of a Gamits record isn't worth anything to YOU. Great, who cares?! I payed $40 for my copy, so I guess that makes it a $40 record. As you mentioned, there are plenty of obscure limited release local bands who's records aren't worth the material they are printed on, but you can't say that all smaller scale bands don't have a high collectible value.

  11. I think it would be interesting to see everyone's age age along with their list.
