It's also been reported that he's being sought as a suspect in 17 more pending hit and run investigations.

I'm not sure if thats a joke, or not, but the guy has been to jail, made his peace and is sober and under voluntary heavy scrutiny about his lifestyle. So if it is a joke, and that's how it comes off, it's not really funny.

I'm not a Matt Bush fan or a Rangers fan even, just appreciate a good comeback story.

  2. If the skins had done their trade for Andrew Luck (who a few people had ranked behind RG3 but not many), would you call that move a mistake?

The other thing I think is worth considering is that QBs don't really move very much in FA. It's not a guarantee you will get a QB for a decade if you hit but it's somewhat likely. It would easily be worth the cost of you thought you were getting a top 1/3 QB for 10 years.

Yes. I like Luck, but he's not even a sure thing anymore.

To me it's not even close. The Browns have enough draft capital now in 2017/2018 to take any player (QB) they want and it won't cost them their own picks. This was always a weak QB draft class.

  3. I appreciate it. I should've just googled. Anyway, guys say dumb shit when they should just own up to poor fielding at times. Both teams had errors, but only the Dodgers had trouble in the infield... The Braves just couldn't throw or catch the ball.

Oh the Braves defense is terrible (Garcia has like 15 errors this season). That's what makes the story laughable.

  4. Seager hasn't impressed me so far watching the two Dodgers-Braves games. He has some serious power, but two at-bats he hit a 400 ft shot just foul and then was so visibly upset about just missing the homer that he struck out badly right after. He also seems to be lazy with his positioning on ground balls. Has a bit of a cocky vibe for a rookie.

  5. I think the difference would be the braves traded him away which wasn't his choice. Where as this year he choose to go to the Cubs, and then proceeded to say some nasty stuff about the cards...did he talk any trash on the braves after he left there?

Nope, like always former players continue to love the Braves. Why else would Jim Johnson and Kelly Johnson re sign this season despite knowingly being trade bait at the deadline for a 2nd straight year? Maybe there's something to be said about why Heyward clearly disliked STL so much compared to ATL. Not that saying "I'd prefer to play around a bunch of young talented players rather than an aging team for the next 7 years" is nasty.

  6. Cards fans painted themselves way too entitled last night booing Heyward. You had him for one, free agent season. Braves fans gave him a standing ovation on multiple occasions last year and will again this year when he returns to Atlanta with the Cubs.

  7. I could see that being a subjective opinion, but you can't say it's "patently false".  Best team at drafting is just opinion unless you put some qualifying criteria behind it.  However I would find it hard to not put the Cardinals near the top.  Throw in the Astros, Cubs, Diamondbacks and a few other teams...

I'm being liberal with my vocabulary for sure. (I'm writing a publication right now so it's hard). The assertion was basically that the Cardinals hit on top round draft picks at the same rate as many other teams. Doesn't speak to the development of lower round guys or organizational development as a whole.

  8. They always seem to have a next guy up who gets it done, though. Arguably the best organization in sports.

There was an article recently looking at the perception that the Cardinals draft better than everyone and how that was patently false. I'll look for it to link.
