  1. Not in-ear and more than $50, but I think I'm gonna get these, unless my local mom and pop has something around the same price. Anyone familiar with the line out adapter for the ipod? Do I need a headphone amp with that? Am I going overboard for $100 headphones? And how big is that gonna make my ipod?

Amazing pair of headphones and well worth the money.

  2. Does your math account for all of the people under the voting age, or even people who can't vote strictly because of physical or personal circumstance?

The numbers can be twisted whatever way you want to make it look like an unfavourable decision by the voting public.

If every person in Canada who is eligible to vote actually voted, it is proven to within a percentage or two both ways that the outcome would be pretty much the same.

I can understand you are bitter with the outcome just the same way I would be upset if either Layton or Ignatieff had won the election. The mere thought of Jack Layton as Prime Minister makes me quiver.

The Liberals don't have a hope in hell until Justin Trudeau decides to step into the ring and take over the leadership of the party.

it doesnt, but just think about that statistic, regardless of what you mentioned, does it seem fair that the conservatives should win a majority government with only 18% of the countries vote?

    .

So if 18% voted for the Tories, what is the percentage who voted for the other parties, what is the percentage of population that was eligible to vote but chose not to, and the percentage who are just plain old ineligible to vote? There is definite shock value to seeing 18% until it is actually broken down.

The NDP received the second largest amount of popular votes and the total voting percentage based on your equation is 13.15%.

It's safe to say that we can agree to disagree on who we prefer to be running our country.

I also appreciate that someone can have an honest opinion and conversation about their government without saying stupid things like, "I don't care, they're all liars/cheats/crooks".

  3. 5,832,401 votes cast for the Conservative Party divided by 34,278,400 Canadians (as of January 1st 2011 according to Statistics Canada) times 100 (to find the percentage) = 18.06% of Canadians voted Stephen Harper into a majority government.

meaning, 81.94% of Canadians DIDN'T vote for the Harper Conservative Government.

  4. welp. looks like we are fucking fucked. here's to 4 years of a harper majority. goddamnit.

I did not see that coming. Balls.

Saw this coming and am very happy that the majority finally did what is right.

If you guys are so opposed to a Harper/Conservative led government, whom did you hope to win? Also, why did you want another party/candidate to win?

  5. yeah the 7" set was RSD 2009. i remember it well, they all came in a big clear plastic bag.

i wanted to get one, but they were over $100.

i even considered shoplifting it for a moment, but...ya know...

The "big clear plastic bag" is a pain in the arse! It is hard to pull some of the sleeves out of this silly packaging.

  6. This album is incredible. So different from mirrored

Where did you hear the album? I've only heard the track, Ice Cream, which was incredible.

Will be going to see them this Friday. It will be my first time seeing them live. The last time they were in Toronto, Slint played on the same night, with Holy Fuck opening for them.

  7. ID card costs $15 for membership which gives you 20% off all purchases over $20 and 5% off anything under.

You can pick the card up for half price on Tuesdays.

My Sunrise still has a bunch of Foo's, Gorillaz and Daft Punk.

    Which one?

St. Catharines location, in the Pen Center. Will be stopping in there tomorrow to see what they have left.

What exactly are you looking for? If they have what you are looking for, I could possibly grab it for you. I am coming up to T.O. on Friday to see Battles play at the Mod Club.

  8. Hot topic charges 30 bucks to ship to Canada, I guess Sunrise is following their lead and charging similar rates. I ordered from them just now and the order numbers are still under 500, the email looks like it came from someone's home account - it's not a huge operation.

Also, take a peak a that Mastodon price, someone messed up!

Actually, Sunrise is a chain record store with at least a dozen stores. I don't think mail order is there thing.

They have a huge store in Toronto that got a serious quantity of RSD stuff.

  9. I live in Niagara (St. Catharines) and I can assure you that you will be wasting your time searching for records here. There is Atomix Records and Niagara Records both on St. Paul St in St. Catharines, both are nothing special. Aside from that, there is a Sunrise Records in the mall but anything they carry you can find at any half decent record store anywhere. It is certainly worth your while to drive to Toronto as they have some amazing record stores.
