  1. I have the s4's and love them. Actually just bought a pair of s4i's too cause they have a built in mic and iphone controls and since I'm freaked out about all these radiation articles.

I've got the s4i's as well. One thing that annoys me is that the cord seems really thin and cheap. I like these more than my Shure SE210s.

  2. Out June 21st from Rykodisc.

On 180 gram vinyl! Includes specially-compiled liner notes from Bob Mould as well as David Barbe (Sugar), Ben Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie), Samuel Fogarino (Interpol), Paul Banks (Interpol), and Lou Giordano (co-producer/engineer).

  3. Whatever you use, make sure it uses the LAME MP3 encoder, which is by far the best.

For Windows, Foobar2000 and CDex work well.

For Mac, XLD and xACT are great.

Also, if you're going to encode as high 256 kbps CBR, you might as well use LAME's VBR0 (extreme variable bitrate) setting instead. It's honestly the best compression around these days. Pretty much the standard of quality.

I'd have to agree with using LAME VBR0. 320kbps is too wasteful in terms of file size.

I've been using EAC to rip audio for years. Foobar can get the job done if you have the WAV files on your hard drive and not on a CD.
