    New Phish LPs = $25

The classic Phish LPs = $50.

    (Scratching head...)

The archival releases have been cut and pressed by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering, and they are incredible pressings, with heavyweight jackets, plastic-lined inner sleeves, and a tremendous amount of attention to detail and care.... while the new releases are more mass produced with nice, but average jackets and not nearly as well pressed records. Most pressings of "Joy" and "Fuego" have pretty consistent pressing errors. I still haven't found a "perfect" copy of either, and I've been through quite a few. Same with "Siket Disc" sadly :/

  2. First post... anyway, just wanna let you all know that I too rang paypal and got the usual call centre deal.

I explained the situation. They gave me the 45 day turn around thing. Then the woman said if he has taken off with the money then it's a matter for the police. I then told them how I was a long standing paypal customer and wasn't there anything they could do? She said no. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she put me on hold for a while. She then came back on the phone and said she couldn't get a supervisor but agreed to refund me the entire amount due to my long standing history with paypal. Basically what she probably did was tell her supervisor, they would have looked at my acct together and just said "give it to him" without needing to speak to them. That's the usual deal with call centres as they have what is called a First Call Resolution and escalating a call to a supervisor is not encouraged. Either way, I thank Paypal for their help in this matter and I hope MTS never do business with anyone ever again in anything ever.

    The result?

    Me - 1, Mightier Than Sword - 2,947

After working in a call centre myself, I can honestly tell you to not lose your cool with them. It usually does nothing as they are just the person on the end of the phone.

Unless the person who answers say "hi, this is RJ-Chowder-Whateverthefuckhisnameis" then by all means go to town on the guy!

    Good advice.

  3. Like someone else said though, this means RJ is still slinking around. I mean, all this stuff is in his name. I don't know who else would be responding to banks and Paypal messages threatening him. They have the resources to chase him down and get their money back, so it makes sense that he'd respond to them. At least, it makes sense to me :P

  4. I got the email about an hour after I got off the phone with PayPal.

Got the same thing as well today, for one of my three purchases. Of course it was the cheapest one, and the most recent. *sigh* But it's better than nothing, and certainly a step in the right direction. Also received the dispute paperwork from my bank today, which I've filled out and added about 20 pages of emails, screencaps and other evidence to prove I (we) got screwed. Mailing out first this tomorrow. I'll keep you guys posted on what my bank does!

  5. Also, some further bs gold from that Property of Zack interview with RJ. Enjoy :P

"All of our vinyl re-issues have been successful. Even if a re-issue doesn’t sell as fast as a blink-182 re-issue, the fact that I’ve been able to be a part of each release is success in itself for me. Shipping delays happen, especially when you only have a couple people assembling, packing, posting and shipping orders out, on top of staying on top of everything else going on with the company. Despite the delays, 99% of our supporters are happy with how each and every vinyl re-issue comes out, and that’s the most important part. I do my best to avoid any delays because I know they are extremely frustrating, but at the same time, a three-week shipping delay is nothing compared to the years a record will be enjoyed in someone’s collection."

  6. Just called PayPal and the girl I talked with said "it's past 60 days, can't do anything sorry" I then asked to speak to her supervisor. Needless to say I have my money back.

Please go on. I'm sure we'd all love to hear more details, especially the folks outside of the States that are dependent on Paypal to get their money back.

  7. I will be printing "I preordered TOYPAJ from MTS & all I got was this shirt" shirts as soon as I can get my brother's schedule aligned w/ mine. He has all the screenprinting knowledge, so I have to wait til he has a couple days off. Shirts will probably be $5 including postage. I'm looking to lose some more money for a laugh. Probably limited to 25 or so. Will post more info as soon as I figure everything out. Feel free to make suggestions for what the text should say. Maybe I'll do the RIP MTS & supchillinbro or whatever his username is on the back.

I'd love one. PM if it happens, please :)

  8. Yeah, I mean, fuck Interpunk, they ship shit on time, and package correctly, FUCK THAT YO. UP THE PUNX

To you maybe. To me they can't seem to ship a record that doesn't have bent corners and seem splits. So as I said, fucking interpunk.

Same. Though, their customer service has been helpful. They could just avoid sending a replacement and responding to emails by packing their stuff better in the first place. I'll never understand why sellers still don't know how to package vinyl so that it arrives in the condition that it left in.

Also, sort of a bummer for SRC. I've had nothing but good experiences with them, and they did the right thing refunding everyone for the TOYPAJ orders placed through them. Oh well...

  9. Just got off the phone with Citizens Bank again. Wow, what a difference calling in the morning rather than at 5 o'clock makes! People are just rocking up to work and are all cheery, rather than sick of people like myself who got duped calling in all day.

I have dispute claims in, and once I send back a signed affidavit with printouts of evidence, like RJ's posts about the release date being pushed back over and over, they'll be able to refund me in full. Hooray for persistence!

Be sure to explain to whoever you end up on the phone with that you paid in full for a pre-sale. The seller continued to push back the date of the item that was being produced would be shipped to you, supplying you with several missed release dates (which you have proof of), until they finally stopped responding to messages, phone calls and emails. BE sure to go to the MTS website and 'print' a PDF of all 3 (technically 4 with the 3rd one being updated) of RJ's updates so you have proof of his douchebaggery.

  10. the claims just disappeared straight away ! hope paypal still pick them up or im £50 worse off

if you havent already, file with IC3.

Also, call Paypal and talk to them about the claims they're closing. The more people that file a claim online AND call in, the more attention it gets. And yeah, definitely file a claim with IC3. At this point Paypal isn't going to be able to do anything, unless you placed your order 45 days ago.

On a similar note, holy hell Citizens Bank has terrible customer service. I have to wait for them to mail me shit to send back to them just to open disputes, and they won't help me out for the most expensive order that I placed back in July. Lesson learned, don't EVER give anyone money and wait longer than 3 months for them to deliver. :-[

  11. can someone who already filed with IC3 post all the info here that they used for the IC3 complaint application? like all the general info you have to fill out (obviously dont post your order numbers and stuff, as they will be different for anyone)

This is the info I included in my claim:

Information about the Individual/Business that victimized you

Business Name: Mightier Than Sword Records, LLC

    Name: R.J. Crowder-Schaefer

    Gender: M

Address: 109 Ingraham Street, Suite 309

    City: Brooklyn

    State: New York

    Country: United States

    Zip Code/Route: 11237

    Phone number: 3475991855

    Email Address: [email protected]

    Other Identifiers

    Web Site: http://mtsrecords.com/

    IP Address:

    IRC Server:

Chat Room Name: supchillinyou (on http://vinylcollective.proboard)

    Usenet Newsgroup:

    Other: http://www.facebook.com/mightierthanswordrecords

I also referenced the three (technically four) different updates RJ posted on the MTS website while explaining how he lead us to believe that the release was actually being manufactured:

    http://mtsrecords.com/blink-182-take-off-your-pants-and-jacket-lp-7-update

    http://mtsrecords.com/blink-182-toypaj-update-3-limited-pressing

    http://mtsrecords.com/update-on-the-blink-182-take-off-your-pants-and-jacket-lp-re-issue

And just to reiterate on the Paypal end of things, when I called they said they'd put a hold on his account if there were a number of complaints (which there have been), and the rep later slipped up and admitted that it looked like there was a hold on the account. With the addition of that ditzy girl complaining about not being able to give her money away for nothing, I think it's safe to say he can't receive any money through that account at this point.

  12. I think the only reason anyone has any standing orders is cause they cant get the refund they have requested.

    This.

Just got off the phone with Paypal. No dice. Nothing they can (are willing) to do. The guy suggested I file a claim at ic3.org (like others have suggested). I'm officially joining the party :(
