  1. Thank You! It's always nice to hear from customers using a service as it was intended to be used.

no no Thank You! You have been pretty much my favorite service in this great country and we all would be much sadder without you and the Media Mail service. :D

    One never knows.

We had to stop doing book rate for international orders.

Anyone ever send an M-Bag book rate? Now that was a savings!

  2. It's shit like this that makes you wanna pay for insurance and all that jazz, but how many records do you think you've shipped and received? Not even worth it over time with the ratio of good ships to bad ships.

    Thank you for the compliment?

The usual reminders with shipping collectibles:

    - Pack well (sufficiently commensurate with value and fragility).

    - Mark packages "Fragile" on all sides.

    - Consider alternatives to media mail, since the bulk of media mail items are rather heavy and less fragile.

    - Always insure valuable items.

    Best wishes MRC.

  3. Thanks for the kind words.

It's just frustrating to spend so much time and money on something and the fucking USPS ruins 1-2% of the copies sent. It could be worse I suppose. It could be every copy!

Fragile collectibles should be packaged appropriately to prevent damage in transit.

In our experience, split seams for phonographic records are generally a result of insufficient packing allowing the vinyl disc to move about the box during transit.

  4. Very sorry to hear about your experience. We recommend insurance for collectible items such as phonographic sound recordings.

The worst thing about all of this is it's common. I'm just thankful it's only happened to me once in the 10 years I've been mail ordering records.

Less than 1% of our parcels are lost or damaged in transit. In these cases, damage is usually minor. We are happy to have provided you with good service these past 10 years.

  5. Chad, I think you will find our rates for shipping phonographic records without correspondence very competitive and independent of where you are shipping from/to:

    5lbs $100 insured value

cheapest Fedex home delivery NYC-LA: $12.75

cheapest Fedex home delivery NYC-Chicago: $10.88

USPS media mail w/ insurance: $6.19

    2lbs $100 insured value

cheapest Fedex home delivery NYC-LA: $10.62

cheapest Fedex home delivery NYC-Chicago: $9.52

USPS media mail w/ insurance: $5.02

Printing your postage with Click-N-Ship or Paypal will allow you to add Delivery Confirmation for little or no additional expense.

  6. Thank you for your inquiry!

Media Mail® service is a cost efficient way to mail books, sound recordings, recorded video tapes, printed music, and recorded computer-readable media (such as CDs, DVDs, and diskettes).
