Sounds hot. I'd be way down for this. I've a test of the Can't Stand LP and the 1st 7". Would love to continue the tradition.

I used my #1 choice and vote for the Coop label thing on this release. In fact it's why I signed up for the Coop in the first place. I'm just glad to finally be able to own the bastard on vinyl. Love this album and have been waiting for years to get it.
Happy Go Licky was such a side project/experiment that came and went, it's hard to really judge it. It just...was. I'd certainly pick up a repress though.
-
EXCELLENT!
Sorry you turned into a Vampire.
-
Thanks. The delay and 2 color thing is about what I figured. I suppose I'm hoping for a Fat dude to pop in here with some definites.
-
Anyone out there have any info regarding this release on vinyl?
Like when it'll hit the streets, variations, etc.?
-
DuPont Olssons is toast. No loss. They had like 12 records there anyways.
Second the Smash suggestion. It's really the only punk rocky one in the area. Pretty good about prices too.
Crooked Beat can be a bit nuts with pricing sometimes. Beware.
If you're up for a trip, Joe's Record Paradise in Rockville (North of the city) is huge. Not so punk-centric, but everything else is there in spades.

The tattered box my pile of records showed up in was pretty bashed to hell as well. You could see inside of the package through the wear and tear on the sides. And it even looked retaped at some point. But, through the miracles of physics, the sweet vinyl within lived to tell the tale. A mere bent corner or two on the jackets, but that's it. Thanks for the wide variety of rarer colors! I need to check out that photo again later to place a few of them.
Maybe the postal service dudes don't like the skull stamp? Because skulls hate freedom.

Color: Hooray for no purple mess. I like what No Idea does and understand how they can put out releases fer cheap, but, yeah... purple-grey mess gets old. (and hard to keep track of in my aging mind)
On the press quality: I lack the audiophile type equipment to really pick up any noticeable differences between the presses. (I did finally pick a mixer though) The pink one sounded just fine to me when it went round.
-
Let the shipping begin! Stoked to see what arrives.
The pink press from Interpunk was real nice - and these look equally tasty.

Stay tuned for sunday when a Terminal Boredom 7" test press goes up. This will also conclude the test pressing sales for quite some time. I'm only putting these up to cover my fest costs. Almost $1000 already. Yowza!
Yer killin' me. Guess I'll be watching eBay for another week. And possibly supporting your Fest trip.
Thanks for putting up the test press as well as the pressing info on the latest short press. Hopefully I'll score a nice selection of colors when you get around to divvying them up on shipping day...
And what's the deal with the Interpunk puke green thing? Just their wording for "Dark Green Mix"?

A message board is much less obvious than having ebay sitting on your screen.
My internet time is not "precious." I am in front of a computer all day, ebay just isn't the easiest site to use at work when you're right outside the CEO's office.
Anyway, congrats again, t34. Enjoy it.
Sorry about your internet to CEO ratio, I can understand that situation. That can definitely put a damper on your internet fun. I'll quit your case.
If you're looking for some revenge of sorts and you have most of the Terminal Boredom 7" press colors, perhaps you could take some of my money/records in trade? PM me with what you have and what you'd want in cash or trade. If you're up, that is.

Purple?
Purple would be part of the recent second pressing on "mystery colors" I'm guessing? The recent pressing that is finished, but missing covers or something? I pre-ordered a pile of those, but the 1234Go dude hasn't posted much about it lately. Probably because he knows about as much as we do due to poor communication from the printers.
The Green one is a tour only color, but was available in 1234Go store about a week ago, not sure about now though.
Since this band involves The Briefs expect some ridiculous vinyl pressings to chase after. It's how they roll. Still, not as crazy as HWM or AM! collections. Gah.

I work on web design all day, so I guess I've an unfair advantage. And yes, perhaps I can lose sight of what it's like for someone who doesn't have such a nicety literally at their fingertips.
But - if you work someplace that won't let you spend 1 lousy minute on eBay at the appropriate time, but allows you to make multiple posts throughout the day on these boards, then perhaps it's time to re-evaluate your precious internet time usage at said job.
I've never owned a test press of this album, until today.

I'm not even sure what bidding "like a man" means. If bidding smartly means that I'm not a man, then yes, I have a vagina.
I put an exploratory bid in with 2 mins to go, then again at 40 seconds or so. (There were no more bids by anyone else after this point) Then I slammed in a big fat number for safety sake at about 8 seconds or so. There was plenty of time (40 seconds-ish) to shoot back.
Check the bid history son, I been there the whole damn auction.
-
Well shucks. I ordered a buncha the re-presses from you, so I should be fine. But, I was hoping to pick up any tour only type stuff, ya know, while they were on tour. I'll still hit the show fer sure though. Thanks for the updates and info.
-
Soooooo there'll be no new vinyl stuffs to pick up at the shows? Say, tomorrow in Balto?
Bummed.
-
I don't think I've ever really ordered stupid amounts of extraneous copies of an album before now. I'm just really into this album. And I think I'm losing the war with this vinyl addiction thing. Pretty badly.
So Mr Steve, any chance you'll have the pressing info on this re-release up before the 19th? I'd like to know what to look for at the merch table when these guys hit Balto on the 20th.
Thanks
-
think i'm done trying.
Giving it a few more minutes of trying than going to head to the comic shop.
New comic day is tomorrow 'cause of the 4th. Don't want to see you double disappointed this day...
-
you do realize probably the biggest reason this was such a mess was because people were attempting to add hundreds copies of the same record to their cart just to see how many were left... right?
FTW

+1. And after you're finished with your falafel, go across the street to Smash Records (as suggested above). http://www.smashrecords.com/wordpress/
Then go next door to Crooked Beat. They have a decent vinyl selection of all types of music. http://www.crookedbeat.com/
If you're into 60s garage and soul and that type of thing, there's another place on 14th right by Cafe St. Ex called Som Records:
Finally, if you have access to a car and want to browse a huge place with all types of music (only a small and strange punk section though, hit up Joe's record paradise in Rockville.
Feel free to pm me with questions.
This guy knows the score. Definitely hit up Smash first as they'll be your best bet to get fairly priced stuff and potential steals. I've found sick stuff there (Kid Dynamite ST - $9) every time I go - which as of late has been weekly. This is where you'll probably drop the most cash.
Then, Crooked Beat is like 10 ft away. They tend to be on the pricey side of things (you'll find stuff you just looked at in Smash for 50% more), with slim chances of finding any gems. Good selection of new releases though - and you'll be steeping in a bit of DC HC history since it used to be the building that housed Madams Organ.
If you go out the door and head left, then cross the street, you'll stumble onto a used CD/video game type place. They have a shit ton of used records in the back, but most of 'em are terrible DJ 12"s. If you're up for some searching you may yield results. I found a sweet spread of HWM 7"s there one day for like a buck a throw.
Then head back down the street and get yourself some Falafel.
Som records is a bit of a walk, but not an unpleasant one. The dude there is real nice and laid back. Mostly Jazz and Soul. However, there's always some punk to be found in the new/just in area. Definitely found great stuff there before.
Joe's is a half day adventure. There's so much crap there. Not much punk, but lots of Jazz, metal, rock, garage and all types of stuff fer cheap. Recommended.
Best o luck.

Do you need help off your high horse because it seems WAY up there. He's NOT complaining about slow mail. He's complaining, a complaint I echo, because it seems pointless to pre-order, a process that should ensure you get a release quicker than anyone else, and get your records after distribution center orders.
Its quite simple, its a fair complaint. If I order on pre-order I should get my order before No Idea (using them for this example) gets their records let alone No Idea ships their records to their customers. People who pre-order should come before distros in mailing order.
I'm scared of horses. Big vacant eyes, tall, creepy. I imagine high horses must be extra double scary.
As to you goons' pre-order complaints. Pre-order in no fucking way means you should be entitled to get stuff first. It simply means "Hey I paid for some shit, guarantee that you send it to me." In the case of possibly hot titles, such as say the PIB release, it guaranteed you a record, before (pre) it was released to other distros and the general public. In the PIB case you were guaranteed your vinyl (and received it, but not after further complaints) and those that snoozed or said, "I'll just grab it at the show or from Internetsuperrecordstore" lost out. Because they didn't pre-order, thus guaranteeing their copy.
In the Gaslight case you goons pre-ordered records that didn't completely sell through and you saw it elsewheres and now your the bitter asses. Entitled bitter asses. Pre-order guarantees you a spot on the bus, not the front fucking seat. Be glad you're on the bus. Don't wanna pre-order, then fine, that's just more goodies for others that care more about the band and their art and supporting them to the fullest than receiving a material good in the mail on time before all your super cool scenester friends have shit.

C'mon now. This is entirely nonproductive. I get that complaining isn't going to make it come any faster but silly name calling isn't going to help anything. Perhaps my remarks were a bit harsh but straight name calling doesn't advance any sort conversation.
Basically, I'm bummed out that I pre-ordered this from the label (which is typically the fastest, most direct way to get an album) and I still haven't gotten it. Meanwhile, folks who ordered from No Idea, not only have theirs but got a color I didn't even know was available. I'm not going to set fire to Jordan, I just think it's kind of a bummer.
You are basically annoyed that people are complaining about how long it's taking.
None of this requires names like bitch, or douchebag (on either side). So, I think we can basically leave it at that.
What's entirely nonproductive is complaining: 1. About the speed of the postal service. and 2. About not getting records on time due to an small label being like one dude.
You supported the label directly with your cash and confidence via a preorder. Solid. Feel good. Without such support these folks'll shrivel up and die and you'd have nothing to complain about. Your shit's in the mail, you're gonna get it, you're gonna be a happy lil' clam. You also went to see the band and thus supported them once more. If you NEEDED to have the vinyl you'd a bought it then and there at the show, listened to it, then maybe handed it off to some friends and gotten them tuned into Gaslight as well. Or put it up here for a fair trade on the board. Sick, the world's a better place thanks to ya.
Instead this. I get to check in here after a shit day in the salt mines to catch up on releases and stuff and I get to read posts on late mail and where's my double special color shit. Obsess about something else besides crap in the mail, it'll show up, until then I'm sure something shiny'll pop up to catch your attention real soon.
My mind.

Pretty sick film. Lots to simply sit back, take in, and enjoy. It doesn't quite join the Rushmore or Tenenbaum stature, but it's close. Either of those suckers can be put in and watched pretty much anytime, anywheres - such is their endearment. I balked on DL for awhiles, foolishly checking out less stellar films in it's stead. Finally I got off my ass, hopped the Metro and saw it at the AFI Silver. Got stoked after seeing it and only more stoked as time went by. It grows on ya, so maybe it'll continue gain even more favor in my eyes. DL was refreshing because Aquatic was such a big fat letdown. Weakest of the bunch. I found his commercials more entertaining than that film.
Wish the DVD had more stuff on it though. Commentary, anything...

Godzilla's not stoked, because they put his ass in storage for at least another 6 years and the last movie blew. Gamera is our only hope now.

Hey now,
Mr. Ham, will there be a weirdo-mega-super-deluxe-promo deal this time around?
Just curious.
