well the thing im using it for is my old bands music which never existed on vinyl and its a lo fi band to begin with so the loss of quality isnt really something i worried about. thats what im using it for but im just saying for records that arent on vinyl even if the sound quality is sub par, itd still be cool to have some records on vinyl just for the sake of having them. although itll be a while before i can afford another one of these haha.

 

mostly i posted this just for kicks. its something interesting and fairly affordable as opposed to getting hundreds pressed for like 500-1000 dollars

If you end up doing this will you come back to this thread and post how it turns out?  I've been looking around for something like this for similar reasons as you.

Got mine today. First thing I noticed is the packaging on this thing is top notch.

So is Shop Radio Cast putting this out themselves? What is thier reputation as far as quality goes?

Was expecting the gold record to be the color of the gold on the jacket... not pumpkin orange. But maybe that's just the photo?

One half of me is glad I didn't shell out 60 bucks for something that doesn't quite seem to be what was advertised.

Bump. Just decided we're going to finish off the overrun with some new, different colored jackets. The jackets will be green with dark green ink. There will be 21 of these for sale.

Just thought I'd chime in one more time because I didn't comment on it before... the sound on this thing is incredible.

It's just an overrun copy. I wasn't keeping the best track of which copies I was putting in each order... I think the "true" pressing info is around /220 copies with jackets, and 27 more without.

Ah, thanks. I'm going to go ahead and say, aside from 1 of 200, I got one of the coolest numbers.

Just a question (not a concern at all ) but I got mine today and it looks awesome but what's up with it being numbered 201 / 200. Again, I'm not complaining. I actually think it's kind of fun thing to have and I definitely had a laugh.

Serious question: Is there some reason why one would use Dead Format over Discogs? I used to use Dead Format just to keep track of my collection and a want list until I found Discogs. It just seems like Discogs has a database that is far superior in size and accuracy. I'm just wondering if there is some feature that Dead Format has that I'm missing out on by using Discogs for my vinyl info needs?

This is so weird how these are coming and going the way they are. I managed to get one the other day and immediately told a buddy of mine who I knew wanted this as well and it was then sold out. Also isn't really strange that it was sort of an unannounced and unspecified number of this "color" variant?

My bad, considered posting in the Everything Else board but I sort of thought that was for stuff completely unrelated to vinyl (ie. All off the sports threads). I'm new to the boards and am not fully aware of the rules. I'm assuming a mod would have to move or delete this thread? I don't have any problem with that as it seems that the website is aware of the problem and is probably going to have it fixed soon anyways. I was simply wondering if anyone else had this problem because I think it's a really great website and I visit it daily. Thanks!

Anybody else visit this website? Modern-Vinyl dot com has been a great new website I've found and has become one I check every day. In the past few days I've been getting a Malware Detected! warning when I try to visit. Does anyone else visit this website?

With that being said I'm almost certain that it was marked as sold out on there within the past few days because I was excited to see they had more copies of EIIKM a week or so ago but was bummed to see that this one was still sold out. In any case thanks so much for the heads up!

Blue Collar put some more up but sold out again. I honestly am starting to think they are buying some at shows and putting some up but heck it is 5 dollars more than buying it at show and I dont have to handle it while rocking out so I am good. My best bet is keep checking after show nights.

Reading the Sum 41 thread, I'm going to start praying that the next couple weeks aren't as hot...

Honestly I think the problem with the Sum 41 release was that there was no extra support in the box. I think if it would have had an extra piece of cardboard or two inside the box it would have helped. But then again I live in foggy coastal California where it's like 55 degrees every day in the summer soooooo I'm not really one to talk. Just a thought.

...the fuck? Who's fault would that be considered? I mean it looks like it was packaged pretty much the same as most records I've gotten through the mail. Anybody have any ideas as to why this one release is having so many problems in transit? And someone already said this but I really feel for the guy who runs this label that posts on here. He seems like a decent guy who was excited about this release. To see your project get treated like shit must be so disheartening. Hopefully there is some sort of insurance or something to cover this kind of thing?

Using my Mightier Than Sword TOYPAJ refund to buy up these guys entire discog. Listening to that short clip reminded me how good these albums actually are. Been meaning to buy these for a long time!

I feel you here, but am in the opposite situation. Wound up buying Blue on ebay a few months back with a buy it now of 75 bucks, which as you probably know is a deal considering they usually go for 100 more or so. But the self titled has always been waaaay too expensive for me any time I've seen it. I am assuming you wouldn't mind someone pressing Out of the Vein as well?

Got mine today as well. I was sort of bummed that there was no lyric sheet or something else to show some of the other artwork from the album because if I remember correctly the cd booklet, along with the front cover, had awesome artwork.

i'm surprised no one as commented on how thin the grey swirl vinyl is?! it's almost as flexible and a flexi disc haha

Came on here to see if anyone else had posted this. Record looks awesome but it's not much thicker than the paper the jacket is printed on.
