In recent years I have be doing more traveling, for weeks at a time with my better half traversing the various terrain of the west coast and it has intensified my profound love for this region. I have fallen in love with the desert, the canyons, the Pacific Ocean, the mountains-every inch of it and it has inspired the last several Stars Are Insane releases in particular, "When Last We Met" EP cassette on Almost Halloween Time, and now this 2 song ep, "Winter Postcard". Comprised of two quiet, layered bits of acoustic guitar, electric guitar swells and keyboard drones inter-spliced with field recordings "Winter Postcard" serves as a document of the experiences I had in California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada this past winter. "Winter Postcard" is a lathe cut 5 inch limited to an edition of 20 with full color labels, and it is packed in a beautiful arigato pak and come with a full color insert . And that speaks volumes of the artistry of the mind responsible for Kkidss, Christopher Edwards. Tinkering and recording in his bedroom at a furious and soon to be prolific pace, Edwards, has put forth another 18 song long play cassette called "Candy". Lo fi bedroom pop/folk excess but never, ever wearing out its welcome. In fact the only thing that may wear out is the cassette and from constant repeat listens! Kkidss plays lo-fi bedroom pop with folk mixed with more noisier leanings akin to Smog, Simon Joyner, Two Dollar Guitar and even Sonic Youth on a few of the more indie guitar rocking tunes.
