philly:

long in the tooth

OOh! Where is this at? I'm pretty on to the Philly stores but have not heard of this one.

My Philly ones would include Relapse and Noise Pollution (where not only did I see but got a hell of an education on The Beatles : Yesterday and Today album {of which the owner had a GOOD 30+ copies})

relapse off of south st closed a couple weeks ago so i didn't include it.

long in the tooth is on sansom between 20th and 21th, on the side of the street with the roxy. it's really close (two blocks) to the first unitarian church, if anyone is planning on going to a show there. i was acutally rec'd it by someone on here, and it's by far my favorite place to record shop/browse. great selection, nice friendly staff. the only problem is they mix the new and used together, but it's not a huge deal. i highly recommend it to anyone who stops in center city.

Stumbled across this article in the Philadelphia City Paper yesterday on Long in the Tooth. It's linked online:

I had no idea about what had happened to Siren. I have mixed feelings on them since on one hand, I used to love going there when they were reasonably priced and still a bit snooty. There was a certain charm to it and I would find gems there over the 15 years I went there. On the other hand, my punch card that was ridiculously punched to the tune of some 300 - 400 times (which each 15 punches would get me $10 credit) was mysteriously "lost" in their move to a bigger store space. Pissed me off cause I thought I was quite the loyal customer.

They're just on hiatus and need $20,000 to get their rent clear and such.
