moodydan
I posted this on vinylengine, but got no responses. The serial number is further down where I copied the message from Technics. Hopefully somebody here can help me! I've researched as much as I seemingly can, but I can't seem to find any way to decipher my serial number. All that I can find is that, mostly as a footnote, this format exists for early production models, but no more information than that. I would appreciate your help! Also, I contacted Technics, and here's how that went (extremely unhelpful): Me: I have a Technics SL-1200MK2-A and would like to know when it was manufactured. The serial number is MJ6512F042 and all I can find about it is that format is from early MK2's, but that's it. I appreciate any help you can offer! Them: Thank you for your inquiry, This model unit was introduced in 2004. The manufacture date should be located at the back of the main unit. We hope this information is helpful. Thank you for contacting Panasonic.

moodydan
Thanks for the link. I found their site a while back when I was searching, but I didn't think to actually contact them...so much for thinking I'm smart!
