daysaves
Ok, so I've got some complete novice questions. I'm trying to set up a Marantz NR1402 receiver with my turntable. I've got a phono preamp between the two, but cannot figure out where to plug in the preamp to get sound from my speakers. The back of my receiver looks like this http://us.marantz.com/Assets/Images/c26-nr1402-2-l.jpg Also another random question. Do I need an optical cable in order to play my TV sound through the receiver/speakers? Can't seem to get that to work via HDMI. Any help would be awesome. Thanks guys. synapsistapped
Cable 1: Turntable -> Preamp (Audio In) Cable 2: Preamp (Audio Out) -> Receiver (Audio In) [This is the "Analog Audio In" section of your particular receiver]
daysaves
Well that was simple, hah. Thanks so much for the response! Still trying to figure out the TV audio thing if anyone has any insight.
jase
Usually tvs don't have hdmi out, only hdmi in. So what you need to do is follow the direction of the signal/sound. Depending on the outputs of your tv, will determine the style of cable going in to the receiver. Optical or RCA cables are your likely options
