  1. i'm glad somebody started this thread, because i have been super curious about this as well...

my specific question would be about all the vinyl out on ebay for sale from japan. Does anybody know much about this? It's hard to tell if this stuff is legit, or bootleg, or whatever because it seems like an endless supply of certain "limited" records. I just would like to know if it is quality or not?

and if anybody could point me somewhere that explains bootlegs in-depth, ore explain it to me themselves, i am extremely curious about the whole process. I don't know why, but it fascinates me!

sorry if i ranted a bit

thanks in advance for the info

  2. things mcm1610 needs to give up to be happy:

    television

    cars

    cell phones

And people managed without cell phones for years, I think they can continue. Keep being a dick though, with all due respect.

and according to this statement, most everything else in life, including computers, the internet, and this message board

And, if you can afford a car, you can afford to get at least a pay-as-you-go cell phone just for that circumstance, where you won't be a burden to the rest of society. But yea, everything should be handed to everyone.

and according to this, he should quit his job so he doesn't have to pay taxes that contribute to well-fare

awesome, i smell an award winning documentary!

*scratch that, it would require way too many non-necessities

  3. with all due respect, you sound like a self-righteous prick

First: cable TV, or TV in general. Just make the goddamn switch to digital signals and stop worrying about whether people are ready for it. If they are ready, great, if they're not, they'll either catch up, or they'll go without TV and realize it's not that bad. The federal government should not be wasting money making sure everyone is ready for the digital switch - just make it.

if it bothers you so much, why don't you stop watching tv. Because you obviously have to watch to know that they have been pimping the switch to digital so hard

Second: Cell phones. Why am I paying $3 a month for someone else to have a cell phone? Since when will you die without it?

well, if and when you are in a horrible car crash and nobody is around to see it, YOU MIGHT DIE!!!!!!

"....but I said With All Due Respect!" :P

  4. if it was me, i would get a small nail, one small enough that the flat side of the nail that you would hit with the hammer will fit into the jack

then i would put a small amount of krazy glue, or something similar, on the flat part, then hold it up to the broken piece till it held

    then pull away, gently

don't know if that will work but, aside from replacing the entire jack, seems to be the most logical way

oh, and if this does work, it's because i'm a pc, and thats how we roll!

  5. depends on what type of music file you are messing with

with most file types (especially mp3) it is impossible to completely remove

the vocal track, or any track for that matter

if you are up for a bit of reading, and playing around, i found this article. It outlines

the most common way of reducing vocals in an mp3 track, and i think goes

into more depth with other methods

  6. i know i am new to posting, but i've been browsing this board for a while

and this is one of the most confusing threads i have ever read

i had to read and re-read the grammar check post from hickey at least ten times before i

could safely say it was correct...and that makes me sad

are you ragging on my grammar or hickey's?

'cause i will grammar rodeo your ass all over this board.

no no no, don't get me wrong. I appreciate good grammar. The double

negatives were just a bit overwhelming.

and as far as a grammar rodeo? I have no idea what that is, and as far

    as i can tell it's a good thing i don't...

  7. i know it's not the first i got off ebay, but it's the first i can remember

    JEW - Static Prevails

and bear with me, because i know it's cliche, but my girlfriend (now wife) was bidding against me to get this for my birthday.

neither of us knew the other was bidding, but thankfully this was before the vinyl craze began so i was able to figure out it was her bidding before the price got too high and i quit.

she ended up winning it for around $30, but had it not been for me it probably would have been closer to $15

  8. somebody stole my wife's cc info and spent $500 at justgiving.com

the bank got her money back but we never heard anything else..

i have to wonder if it was one of the charities involved with the website itself, hoping we'd feel too guilty about trying to get our money back ...whatever!

I donate to my own charity every day, in fact i just gave it a 30-pack and some nachos.

  9. First of all, solid props for starting this thread!

Nick used to play for the angels minor league organization here in Little Rock, the Arkansas Travelers. The guy was solid. Met him a few times after games and at various events.

I just wanted to share my condolences, along with so many others here in Arkansas.

    He truly will be missed!

  11. bad break and all, but at least you have a local record store to bitch about! Some of us don't even get the chance to throw records at the people or stores we buy from...

uhh not to be a dick, but.. YOU LIVE IN FUCKING ARKANSAS. thats why everything is shit there. maybe GTFO?

    just a thought.

but hey, in this day and age, you have just as much access to vinyl as someone here in LA or even NYC.

still. you live in Arkansas, and im sorry.

yeah, i know what you're saying.

I mean, the beautiful scenery, the super nice people, the awesome hot southern chicks....man this place fucking sucks!!
