Back in the early 00's I used to help with the promotion and band development, when it was named Random Entertainment. And I got screwed over pretty bad, not to mention a few bands lost out on money because they couldn't get their heads out of the sand to actually print shirts on time.

 

I've ran into Tim and Brandon here and there. And it's never friendly lol.

 

Holy crap, just checked ebay for The Black Parade. I cannot believe it goes for that much.

So what I'm gathering from this thread is if I want to buy this and paint it golden on vinyl, I should just go see them on tour. That way I'm avoiding the high shipping costs, and lousy packaging, while seeing the band.

I live about 20 minutes away from where they are being shipped from, and It still charges me over ten dollars. Not surprising though with who the management company is....

Okay, so I wasn't done. I just responded to their email.

 

"Thanks for the answer. It's okay. Whatever. A person on the vinyl forum just said his was shipped priority. I just shipped a 14 pound package priority mail within California and it only cost a little over 10 dollars. No big deal, but it is completely illegal to send what you sent through media mail. FYI. Also, I ship 2 pound media mail packages all the time, and it only costs $3 and some change. You aren't fooling anyone"

 

I feel better now, and can continue on with my day.

My whole job at work is shiping things out on eBay. And knowing how crazy the usps is, it's crazy they risked sending it out media mail.

 

It's a sad world when Hottopic.com is really the most trusted in shipping records lol.

I personally feel like a mix variant would be too much for an album like Coming Home. It's a slow / subtle / easy-listening record and I feel like the vinyl press should accommodate those same sentiments through the way the record is pressed. A solid color (preferably brown or green, or even standard black) would work best, in my humble opinion.

You make a very solid point. I do like the green color on the Ben Sherman shirt on the cover. I'm talking about the arm cuff striped coloring.

I hope so. Just one variant though. A nice solid brown or maybe Forrest green would complement the record.

Or a mix/splatter of those two colors?

Is Coming Home ever going to get pressed? It's pretty much made for vinyl lol.
