  1. "Italic Raids" is five tracks of lacerating old-school death/thrash, presented on a single-sided 12". Limited to 250 hand-numbered copies on neon green (100 copies) and black (150) vinyl, housed in an offset printed jacket. Each 12" comes with a digital download. Featuring artwork by Seth Bennett (Faustcoven, Deathhammer, Cultes des Goules). *Vinyl is expected to ship mid-to-late October.* "Vorator spawned in the the supremely fecund metal scene of Richmond, VA. Having spent time in bands diverse as Occultist, Krieg (live), Battlemaster and Earthling (live), Vorator came together in 2012 with the explicit intention to play a lacerating brand of death and thrash. “Italic Raids” hearkens back to a time before death metal cleaved itself from thrash in the primordial metallic soup and became its own entity. Vorator harnesses the aggression of Kreator and Sepultura along with the brutality of early era Death and Sodom. Each of the five tracks on “Italic Raids” detail wars, battles or raids waged by or against the Romans as part of the Mithridatic, Punic and other Roman conflicts." Pre-order here.
  2. Hey folks! Just opened up pre-orders for the debut EP by VA funeral doom group Foehammer. You can check out the details below. Sorry about the massive cover image! "Hailing from the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC, Foehammer’s music belies its bustling surroundings. Rather, Foehammer conjure the creeping tectonic progression of transform faults, culminating in releases of sound waves the magnitude of which is best measured by seismometers. In keeping with the appropriate timescale, each of the three funeral doom epics on Foehammer’s debut EP clock in past the 9 minute mark. Foehammer is doom metal in the truest sense of the appellation, crushing, unrelenting and suffused with a foreboding of cataclysm that smothers each of the EP’s all-to-brief 34 minutes. Foehammer’s rupturing first salvo will undoubtedly appeal to fans of Graves At Sea, Warhorse, Corrupted, Hell, Buried at Sea and other purveyors of the slow." Foehammer will be released in partnership between Baltimore’s Grimoire Records (CD/Tape/Digital) and Arlington, VA’s Australopithecus Records (Vinyl). All formats are currently available for pre-order. CD, Tape and Digital versions are available through Grimoire Records with a street date of April 7th. The initial pressing of 250 hand-numbered copies (50 clear, 200 black) is currently available for pre-order through Australopithecus Records with an expected ship date of mid-May. Pre-order/listen here.
  3. Ordered! Without a doubt one of the grossest records I've ever heard. Absolutely love it.
  4. Hahahah. Polyvinyl includes Airheads in their all their packages, maybe I should include a sandwich bag full of crushed up Goldfish in mine!
  5. Hey folks! Just opened up pre-orders for Oscillations the new mini-LP by Oslo, Norway’s Diskord. Here’s what No Clean Singing had to say about a track off the 12”: “’Lethargic Regression’ is a schizophrenic entity, one that bounces uncomfortably between disorienting dissonant waves and split-second tempo shifts. The maddening assault hits like a calculated blend of Demilich on a bender with Atheist, Gorguts, and Immolation in tow, all the while frequently pulling you down toward the grave with Autopsy-esque lurches and pestilential pit-stops. The track overflows with buzzing, serrated riffs that easily cut through flesh and ear alike, and overwhelms the listener with its raspy growls and pained howls. It’s beefed up by a towering, thick bass presence that spews noxiously, rounded out by spastic fluid drumwork that masterfully guides you through the horrid depths and spiralling gut-spilling contained within. 'Lethargic Regression' is a jarring exercise in unorthodox death metal, uniting both the primitive and the complex into an inseparable mass, with bile and broken bones trailing in its wake.” You can check out said track over at No Clean Singing and their previous LPs at Diskord’s bandcamp. 1st Pressing: 515 hand-numbered copies on blue/black split color vinyl (N. American pressing – Australopithecus Records) 515 copies on red/black split color vinyl (European pressing – Hellthrasher Productions) Both Hellthrasher and I have copies of both variants available for pre-order! North American Pre-orders European Pre-orders Thanks! Pat
  6. Hey guys! I moved last weekend and in doing so found one copy of the red/black swirl (50) that I was holding for somebody. I can no longer remember who, so their loss is your gain. It's up in the store now.
  7. Yes sir! Just send me your current address and I'll ship it out on Monday with the rest of the tests.
  8. Looks like that's it, unless anybody is local to DC and wants to grab the remaining copy at the show at the Black Cat tomorrow night. Thanks everybody! We're trying to get the artwork straight for the overrun press, so hopefully it won't be too long before I'll be posting about those here.
  9. There will be another EVEN FANCIER version eventually. The plan is to screen more jackets for the overrun LPs (about 30 copies on a mix of all 3 color variations). Not sure when that will be, but I'll resurrect this thread and post about it on Facebook once things get in motion.
  10. Wow. That was quick. Was that you who bought one before I had even posted here or on Facebook?
  11. Ok folks, the test pressings are finally up in the store. Getting the jackets done ended up being an ordeal and more expensive than I had originally assumed, so these are a bit more than I would have liked. Thanks guys!
  12. Resurrecting this thread to let you guys know that I'm having some covers screened for the test pressings for this album. I know a few of you out there already have tests, so shoot me an email or a PM on here as a reminder and I'll ship a cover out to you as soon as they're done. The remaining tests will be up in my store later this month (and not outrageously priced, I promise). There are also plans for another screen printed cover limited edition to use up the overrun copies that I have on all three color variations, but that won't be for a handful of months yet. I'll disinter this thread once again when the test jackets are done! Thanks again guys! P.S. Any DC locals headed to the Black Cat tonight for the Black Clouds/Tone/Highway Cross show? If so, let's grab a beer!
  13. I wanted to thank everybody in this thread for all of the kind words and support! I'm down to just a handful of copies on traslucent red, so if you were thinking about ordering one of those, best act quick! -Pat
  14. Thanks for ordering, man! Come out to the o'brother/Black Clouds show on September 17th at the Rock and Roll Hotel!
  15. Awesome. I will most definitely be in attendance. I'll be the inebriate in a death metal shirt.
  16. Fuck yeah! Wish we could have met at the show! I was the drunk dude in the Bolt Thrower shirt.
  17. Super bummed to hear that. Multi-color blends are a bit more prone to surface noise, but warping and skips are unacceptable. I listened to at least 5 randomly selected copies of every variant before I started shipping and didn't have any issues. Gotta Groove does a good job of quality control as well. I wonder if it was exposed to high temperatures in transit. Anyway, shoot me an email at australopithecusrecords [at] gmail.com and we can work something out. I'm sold out of red/black swirl copies, but still have some on translucent red.
  18. Thanks man! I totally just pre-ordered a copy of Carcass' Heartwork from you, can't wait to get my hands on that. Thanks Casey!
  19. Just got the email from OMG Vinyl notifying me that you won. Nice! I'll get the test pressing packed up today and drop it off at the post office on Monday.
