  1. Alright here it goes,

My name is Dakota, I'm 21 from Southern California. I live in a small duplex with my girlfriend and our little dog Nala and my drummer and his girlfriend stay next door. My band is called The Science Involved and we are just finishing up recording our full length "The Tenderloin." My girlfriend works at Vans, which also happens to be my favorite clothing company for the most part, and I'm recently unemployed but have been walking about a mile everyday to Vons and singing/playing acoustic guitar for 6 hours a day for money in the meantime while I wait to receive some callbacks from the various places I've applied at.

I just started collecting records at the end of last year, and though my collection isn't small it is by no means huge. I immediately got the vinyl "itch" after our first few records and have been non stop collecting since, honestly It's been getting kinda bad.. but hey I don't smoke cigarettes or weed and have slowed down a lot on drinking, and I think if anyone understands that it's people on here haha so what can you do?

My favorite bands are Circa Survive, Dance Gavin Dance, Panic! at the Disco, Parkway Drive, The Beatles, Underoath and the local bands we play with. There are plenty of things on my wants list since my collection is still largely a work-in-progress. I keep my trade list updated though and shouldn't be to hard to shop for (it is in my description), as far as shirts/hoodies I wear an XL. Also anything Anthony Green related gets me because he is my favorite singer/songwriter.

A few particular vinyl I would love to add to my collection, but of course in no way expect, would be Panic! at the Disco - A Fever you can't Sweat Out, Circa Survive - Blue Sky Noise, Coheed and Cambria - IKSOSE, Coheed and Cambria SSTB, Fall Out Boy - From Under the Cork Tree, or Jurassic Park - the A variant, But I will be happy with whatever I get, just had to put a "super wishlist" if you will :P

Any which way I'm stoked to be part of this and really enjoy being a new part of this community so thanks for setting this up!

My band for anyone curious -------- FFO Underoath, Parkway Drive, Dance Gavin Dance, Post-Hardcore ---------

  2. ......oh my god you just taught me that this is a thing

I do what I can :P and I'm glad to promote Edmund Mcmillens products in any way I can. He's probably my favorite video game developer right now!

And yea even though this game is a "remake" it has so much more going for it that it might as well be a completely different game, if you had even a little interest in the original I would highly recommend looking into Rebirth.

  3. I finally got around to getting some pictures of my MondoCon stuff. I'm not a super photographer so it's nothing special.

I think Shaun of the Dead turned out to be my favorite release but that 2001 variant is on a whole other level!

For not being a "super photographer" I think you killed it man! Great pictures/angles, better than anything I've personally been able to find on instagram! Thanks

  4. Is rebirth PC only? or will there be a console release this time around? Also Super Meat Boy Forever! So excite.

From what I've seen I think Rebirth will be on ps4 and I know its gonna be on the ps vita, and yea Super Meatboy Forever will probably end up being the first actual good game I ever get for my phone! haha and by good I mostly mean a whole game with no micro transactions every five seconds!

  5. Is anyone else as stoked for the Binding of Isaac remake (Rebirth) as I am!? It's from the same artist that made Super Meat Boy and from the looks of it it's gonna be amazing.

The game is an old-school Zelda inspired rogue-like dungeon game. The story basically consists of your mother being told by "a voice from above" that she needs to sacrifice her child Isaac to prove her faith. After escaping into the basement you take control of Isaac and fight mutated and grotesque monsters/insects while delving deeper and deeper into the bowels under Isaac's house. Every time you play the game it is different thanks to randomly generated rooms, and when you die that's it, you start all over. There are also supposed to be 450+ items that all synergize together for added effects and make your character look different, so every game you are guaranteed to be a new crazy looking Isaac.

Only about 1 more month till it comes out and for the low price of $15 idk how anyone can miss this, and if you don't feel like waiting you can buy the original on Steam right now for $5 and get a $5 discount on the remake if you order before its release on November 4th. I'll leave you guys with the controversial trailer.. Tell me what you think or if you have played the original and are already stoked for Rebirth!

  6. I think the City and Colour - Sometimes album art is pretty ehh but that's probably just because I'm not huge on the traditional tattoo art feel, great album though!

Also a really meh album with amazing artwork for me would be A lot Like birds - No Place, Not a terrible album but really doesn't catch me like I know Kurt Travis can, but that album art is top notch!

  7. so what's everyone doing for xmas? I will be eating lots of microwave food  and probably watching tv till i pass out around 9pm from boredom. I do the least amount of work on the holidays.. not to mention my roommates are out of town so i can just hang out in my boxers all day and eat lucky charms from the box with no care in the world.

there are some perks to being single with no family on xmas.

I will probably just hangout with my girlfriend and duplex neighbors/band members and open presents around a little Christmas tree while hopefully playing some mood setting Christmas albums throughout the day. I would be down to have a huge Christmas dinner with my friends but usually the food stamps are gone for the most part by the 25th haha we'll see what happens though.

  8. I was half joking lol. I think you guys are good at what you do, it just may not mesh with what's popular here. Just keep doing what you're doing, you guys work a lot harder then most bands in the area. That's good JD has a preoccupation and roof over his head. I see he's resurfaced online. I still have a lot of love for that kid, but my family comes first and I can't have him acting like a fool around my girls. Gnome sane?

I definitely feel ya man 100% haha people over here sometimes get overwhelmed by him too and if I had a family like that I'm sure I'd be thinking about it the same way. I just wish he was easier to talk with in some aspects so I could hear more about your guys tour days and shit. Any which way I can't wait to finish these recordings with Danny, Have you checked out that first vid with the drums and guitars?
