placed order on 30th, called in today since i have sent two emails and still have heard any shipping confirmation.  dude at hottopic was surprised it hadnt shipped but said that it was "in the warehouse" and would probably ship today and not to worry, they are reserved for me.

 

So thats nice, hopefully get them by the end of next week.

I don't know why everyone keeps insisting that the OP sounds so horrible. I find my copy to sound just as good as some of my better sounding records. There's not much surface noise and a really good stereo mix. What exactly are you guys hearing that is so bad?

 

Of course there is the possibility that there is a streak of poorly pressed copies or a only a small streak of well pressed copies.

I own an original on silver.  I wouldn't say it sounds bad but I most definitely wouldn't say it sounds great.  The CD quality is much cleaner, especially in the louder parts.  I listen to it all the time and love it but... in my opinion, it would benefit greatly from a high quality heavy weight virgin black vinyl press with an absolutely killer vinyl master to work from.  

 

I am an inch away from biting on this boot.  I would not be at all surprised if the sound is as good, or even better but in a different sort of way.  Waiting to get some first hand reactions from the market place and hoping that one turns up in a local shop.
