  2. can someone post a picture of the mint green? i got copy from the band at the show sunday and its not defiantly not minty. Its like a translucent green color. havent seen any info on it yet? but i am thinking its the panic color.

This picture is the black, sun surface, watercolor splatter, clear, and the "mint green" color you were asking for. Not pictures is purpled mix and creamsicle.

By the way, does anyone know the pressing info for this record? All I know is that the "mint green" copy I have is /300 and it's the Panic Records color.

The mixed purple never got pressed. I ordered that version from P+P and finally got my copy a few days ago with a note explaining that the plant messed up (or something, I threw the note away) and orders for mixed purple were replaced with sun surface, which is the rarest color. But I think that just adds to the whole pressing info confusion...

  3. Salt Lake. Nowhere near as shitty as you think it is, I promise. Our punk scene has always been pretty crappy, but I've been super into a bunch of local metal bands lately.

    Eagle Twin (myspace.com/eagletwin)

Doom duo featuring Gentry Densley (formerly of Iceburn, 1/2 of Ascend). Signed to Southern Lord and toured with Sunn O))) for most of last year

    Gaza (myspace.com/gaza)

Chaotic hardcore/death/grind. Toured the whole fucking world (minus Salt Lake, of course) with Converge this year, on the road with The Red Chord right now and on Metal Blade Records.

    Reviver (myspace.com/reviverhc)

Melodic-ish hardcore that reminds me of a cross between This Is Hell and Defeater. Spend more time on the road than in Salt Lake. New EP is awesome.

    Yaotl Mictlan (myspace.com/yaotlmictlan)

Black metal with indigenous Mexican instrumentation and lyrics inspired by pre-Colombian mythology. Way good.

  4. I'm super excited to see these guys next week. I haven't seen them since the Suburban Home Anniversary last year, and I'm pretty sure they were the best band I saw the entire time I was in Denver. If you haven't seen these guys live you should definitely check out one of their shows.

I did a quick interview with Micah if anyone wants to check it out: http://www.slugmag.com/articles/2439/Two-Cow-Garage.html

  5. According to the crappy music blog that's part of my local newspaper (http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/blogs/burger/50379298-53/bad-religion-spin-com.html.csp):

Over the next three weeks MySpace Music and SPIN.com will be rolling out new songs from the Bad Religion tribute compilation, which will feature covers from William Elliott Whitmore, Frank Turner, The Weakerthans, Switchfoot, Ted Leo, Cheap Girls, New Politics, Cobra Skulls featuring Fat Mike from NOFX and Riverboat Gamblers. The compilation will be available for download on October 19 at SPIN.com in conjunction with an oral history of Epitaph Records with liner notes for the tribute album running in the November issue of SPIN magazine.
