I have a HUGE lot of 900 - 1000 vinyl records that span genres like Jazz, Dixieland, Big Band, Vocal, among others. This lot consists of many known (and maybe not so popular) jazz musicians and singers and their orchestras. Also included are countless jazz compilations, dixieland compilations, as well as compilations for 20s, 30s, 40s music and beyond. Many gatefold double LPs, as well as a box set. Also included are a lot of heavier 78's (10" & 12 "). A stack of them are loose, but most of them are stored in record album storage books. I bought this from a Jazz collector from Schaumberg, IL 5 years ago as a means to expand my tastes (I normally listen to other genres), but after all this time, I've managed to listen to only 25% of them, and no longer have the time to invest in listening to the rest. This isn't a cherry picked lot. It's everything I bought from the original owner, plus an extra stack I added to the lot.

If your intention is to resell, even if sold at $.50 a piece, you'll still make a good profit. I've seen sellers sell lots half (or less) this size, give or take, for more than I'm asking! You might find some gems that are worth more than a few bucks, so hey, it's your gain. Condition wise, these are in excellent condition, not the crummy condition you'd find in thrift/resale shops, yard sales, or even many record stores.
I'm looking to sell these a.s.a.p. to help a friend in need. I'm asking $125.
** Due to the volume of records, I can't ship them (These boxes are heavy!) so this is ONLY for pickup for anyone located in the Chicagoland area, or anyone willing to make the trip to pick them up. I'm located in East Chicago, IN, 15 mins from the IL/Chicago state line.Below is a large list of names included in this lot, and this isn't even all of them! *see links below for photos. If you need more photos, message me and I'll gladly provide them. Thanks for taking the time to look!

That one's hard to come by. Been looking for one myself.
-
Been pretty big on Bongripper (from Chicago). Saw them at Reckless Records some years back and they knocked the power out a few times, haha.
-
I've been on a Blood Sister and Night Manager kick lately.
-
Some people just have all the damn luck!
That was my one big score. Since then, I've found nothing but "junk" at all the places I normally look :/
-
Times are tough and I haven't been able to splurge like I used to, but hey, that won't stop me from buying entirely.
Recent purchases:
Ride - OX4 The Best of Ride RSD double LP
Blood Sister - Dysphoria 7"
Blood Sister - Why Would You 7"
-
Wow, I haven't bought from there in years. I'll check it out and see what's new. Thanks for the heads up!
-
Huge loss to the biz.
R.I.P. Hot Rod.
-
Another band that has flown under the radar.
-
Wow, I've been out of the vinyl loop for a while, and can't believe I missed that announcement! Better late than never. I'm excited beyond words.
-
Normally the go-to record stores in the Chicago area are the 3 Reckless Records locations, but I have this one to recommend:
Beverly Records
11612 S. Western Ave.
Chicago, IL 60643
http://www.beverlyrecords.com/
Very good selection. Pretty heavily stocked. It's located very far south of the city, pretty much as far south as you can go.
-
Sent you an email
You did? So sorry if I overlooked it! Do send again
-
I highly recommend Airiel. Some of the prettiest and heaviest shoegaze I've heard. Great band from Chicago that's criminally underrated in my opinion.
I'd also recommend Lightfoils. Features a few ex-members of Airiel.
*Many apologies for stuffing this post. I didn't want to double post.
-
Never found anything noteworthy at any Goodwills here, but I once scored some good finds at Unique Thrift store (Chicagoland chain) for $.50 each:
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream (peach double LP) mint! Probably my favorite find ever.
Daft Punk - Homework near mint
The Beatles 1962-66 Double LP EX
The Motown Story 5LP box set VG
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory (not a fan, but hey, it earned me an easy $100 online!) EX
-
People can rag on HT all they want, but depending on what's in stock online or at any location, they offer a decent to good selection. I've bought vinyl from there on/off since 2002, and have scored some damn good deals
-
Damnit, I missed out!
-
*Updated list.

A stack of various Decca Personality Series 78's. Not sure of the exact year(s), but I know they're older than the rest of my vinyl collection.

I play guitar here and there, but I'm not involved with a band.

What to do with all those used mailers?!

Save all of them. They will come in handy. However if you're insistent on getting rid of them, a good option is pass them on to fellow vinyl collectors. Buying them doesn't come cheap, so you'll do someone a great service by passing them on. I cringe when I see or hear of people throwing cardboard mailers away >_<
