  1.   I have a HUGE lot of 900 - 1000 vinyl records that span genres like Jazz, Dixieland, Big Band, Vocal, among others. This lot consists of many known (and maybe not so popular) jazz musicians and singers and their orchestras. Also included are countless jazz compilations, dixieland compilations, as well as compilations for 20s, 30s, 40s music and beyond. Many gatefold double LPs, as well as a box set. Also included are a lot of heavier 78's (10" & 12 "). A stack of them are loose, but most of them are stored in record album storage books. I bought this from a Jazz collector from Schaumberg, IL 5 years ago as a means to expand my tastes (I normally listen to other genres), but after all this time, I've managed to listen to only 25% of them, and no longer have the time to invest in listening to the rest.  This isn't a cherry picked lot. It's everything I bought from the original owner, plus an extra stack I added to the lot.

If your intention is to resell, even if sold at $.50 a piece, you'll still make a good profit. I've seen sellers sell lots half (or less) this size, give or take, for more than I'm asking! You might find some gems that are worth more than a few bucks, so hey, it's your gain.  Condition wise, these are in excellent condition, not the crummy condition you'd find in thrift/resale shops, yard sales, or even many record stores.

I'm looking to sell these a.s.a.p. to help a friend in need.  I'm asking $125.

** Due to the volume of records, I can't ship them (These boxes are heavy!) so this is ONLY for pickup for anyone located in the Chicagoland area, or anyone willing to make the trip to pick them up.  I'm located in East Chicago, IN, 15 mins from the IL/Chicago state line.

Below is a large list of names included in this lot, and this isn't even all of them! *see links below for photos.  If you need more photos, message me and I'll gladly provide them.  Thanks for taking the time to look!

  2. I highly recommend Airiel.  Some of the prettiest and heaviest shoegaze I've heard.  Great band from Chicago that's criminally underrated in my opinion.

I'd also recommend Lightfoils.  Features a few ex-members of Airiel.

*Many apologies for stuffing this post.  I didn't want to double post.

  3. Never found anything noteworthy at any Goodwills here, but I once scored some good finds at Unique Thrift store (Chicagoland chain) for $.50 each:

Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream (peach double LP) mint!  Probably my favorite find ever.

Daft Punk - Homework  near mint

The Beatles 1962-66 Double LP  EX

The Motown Story 5LP box set  VG

Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory (not a fan, but hey, it earned me an easy $100 online!) EX

  4. Greetings, everyone!

    Real name:
    Homer

    Favorite Bands:
Far too many to name, but I will say I'm big on shoegaze, dreampop, post-punk, darkwave/coldwave/goth, metal (no "core" metal), indie, chillwave, trip hop, among many others.

    What's your Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr etc.?:
    Twitter: @Spooky_Kabuki

    Instagram: @scumpadre

    Tumblr: spooky-kabuki.tumblr.com

    Hobbies (outside of record collecting):
I'm a horror and haunt enthusiast, so I like to dabble in props and such.  I'm heavily into thrifting/antique hunting.  I've also been an Ebay seller for a decade and am still going strong.

Play in a band? Run a record label? Link us!:
I play guitar here and there, but I'm not involved with a band.

Random things you want us to know about you:

I'm a huge horror fanatic, as well as haunt enthusiast.  I plan to get into the haunted house industry at some point in the future.  I'm going to dabble in prop making, special effects, mask making, etc.   I'm also a huge wrestling fanatic.  I'm huge on Lucha Libre, WWE, and various indie organizations.  Fuck TNA.
