Save all of them. They will come in handy. However if you're insistent on getting rid of them, a good option is pass them on to fellow vinyl collectors. Buying them doesn't come cheap, so you'll do someone a great service by passing them on. I cringe when I see or hear of people throwing cardboard mailers away >_<

I have a HUGE lot of 900 - 1000 vinyl records that span genres like Jazz, Dixieland, Big Band, Vocal, among others. This lot consists of many known (and maybe not so popular) jazz musicians and singers and their orchestras. Also included are countless jazz compilations, dixieland compilations, as well as compilations for 20s, 30s, 40s music and beyond. Many gatefold double LPs, as well as a box set. Also included are a lot of heavier 78's (10" & 12 "). A stack of them are loose, but most of them are stored in record album storage books. I bought this from a Jazz collector from Schaumberg, IL 5 years ago as a means to expand my tastes (I normally listen to other genres), but after all this time, I've managed to listen to only 25% of them, and no longer have the time to invest in listening to the rest. This isn't a cherry picked lot. Condition wise, these are in excellent condition, not the crummy condition you'd find in thrift/resale shops, yard sales, or even many record stores. That was my one big score. Since then, I've found nothing but "junk" at all the places I normally look :/

Normally the go-to record stores in the Chicago area are the 3 Reckless Records locations, but I have this one to recommend: Beverly Records 11612 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL 60643 http://www.beverlyrecords.com/ Very good selection. Pretty heavily stocked. It's located very far south of the city, pretty much as far south as you can go.

I highly recommend Airiel. Some of the prettiest and heaviest shoegaze I've heard. Great band from Chicago that's criminally underrated in my opinion. I'd also recommend Lightfoils. Features a few ex-members of Airiel. *Many apologies for stuffing this post. I didn't want to double post.

Never found anything noteworthy at any Goodwills here, but I once scored some good finds at Unique Thrift store (Chicagoland chain) for $.50 each: Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream (peach double LP) mint! Probably my favorite find ever. People can rag on HT all they want, but depending on what's in stock online or at any location, they offer a decent to good selection. I've bought vinyl from there on/off since 2002, and have scored some damn good deals
