Hi, I've got a Pioneer PL-201Z. I've had it since 1985. An oldie, but a goodie. I was playing an LP the other day, and as the last track was fading the LP sped up. It's never done this before. I can't get it to play 33 now. It's somewhere between 33 and 45. The belt looks ok. I did change the belt a few years ago. I remember it did slip off the rim of the platter a few months ago, so it may have stretched slightly. I put it back, and it's been fine since. I've sprayed fluid cleaner on the spindle and connections, but to no avail. Also the spindle won't rotate the platter now unless I give either one a slight nudge. I thought it might be the belt that needs changing, but a friend said this would slow the platter down, rather than speeding it up, but as the spindle isn't rotating properly it may be another problem.
