Did anyone who pre-order this from Amazon get a shipping estimate yet? The site says it releases on Tuesday but my order says there is no shipping or delivery estimate.

I just got mine from Amazon! Haven't given it a spin yet, but the packaging is great. Very nice inner sleeves. Checked the deadwax and it appears Columbia had them pressed at Pallas USA too!

Media Mail with USPS is frickin' weird. Recently I won something on eBay from a user an hour south of me. This has happened before with something two hours away, and by first class mail was essentially overnighted. I figured that would be the case with Media but boy was I wrong! It was picked up, brought to the Birmingham distribution center, but instead of being brought to the local post office WAS SENT TO MEMPHIS. MEMPHIS. Then it went to Atlanta, then BACK TO BIRMINGHAM. Then to my post office. It took 2 days, which wasn't a biggie, but it made no sense.

 

Cheaper the shipping method, the more work they do to ensure you get it later. Makes a lot of sense. lol

I just got mine and it sounds PHENOMENAL. I can't imagine it sounding any better. Falling sounds absolutely unbelievable. Getting ready to do a comparison with my original CD copy! I was also surprised by the bonus track at the end of side 1. I wonder, is the original issue like this?

 

Despite sounding so good, there's something a bit odd about it; in-between each track there is not silence but a cutting in and out. Not like a pop, but like some kind of weird tape anomoly or something? This doesn't affect any of the songs but it's strange. I've never heard anything like this before.

Anyone know how this sounds yet? I want to grab one but I'm wary with it being Plain Recordings & all.

Finally got my JP replacement in today. Ended up scoring the splatter set! I figured it was just gonna be another black one so this was a surprise.

Anyone else waiting on a JP replacement get theirs yet? I sent mine back and it arrived on the 10th. Haven't heard back from Mondo yet.

Just got through side A and B of JP, and it's full of hiss & pops. I know I reported earlier that Side A sounded good when I listened to it yesterday and I don't know how it didn't get my attention because at times it gets pretty bad. Mostly at the beginning of the first track, then around the middle & end as far as pops go. The hissing goes from moderate to heavy throughout the entire thing. Gave it a gentle cleaning too and it's not any better.

 

It's not warped but there's quite a few scuffs all over both sides but side A is by far the worst. Spinning side C right now and it's totally different; absolutely no hiss, just some slight popping here & there that's totally fine.

 

I'd contact Mondo for a replacement but they're out, and I don't want to lose having one of these. But it sucks having dropped $42 on a soundtrack with a messy first half!

Had time to spin side 1 and it sounded really really good! Gave the liner sheet a read and it said this marks the first physical release of the expanded soundtrack released digitally in 2013, but it's only got 16 tracks still. Odd.

My JP came in today! Annnnnnnnnnnnnd no variant. Bummer. :C

 

BUT at least I got a copy so all's okay. The records themselves are a bit scuffed-up though...

No confirmation for mine either, it isn't even in processing status. Just says "new."

Anyone get a copy of this yet?

How long has it been taking for you guys to get shipment confirmations? I paid with Paypal yesterday and my order status is still "new." I assume it's just because they got a big amount of orders on their hands! lol

I'm probably gonna cut it close for a copy, gotta go make a deposit before I can buy one. KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED I get a splatter set, or even get an order in on time.

I don't know if I should pull the trigger on pre-ordering the reissue. Isn't the older deluxe edition not as good as an original Enigma? I've heard conflicting reports. (Asking this because I figure they'd use the same exact master once again.) I guess if it's better than the Geffen CD I got it'd be a great buy.

 

Then there's the whole matter with eBay being a bit weird right now. I've been eyeing originals for a while and sold listings are all over the place. An SST Evol for $100, then one went for $47...then I grabbed one for $23.50! Splendid condition too. IF ONLY I'd get lucky like that with an Enigma Daydream Nation....

Got mine today! The packaging is beautiful. Was not expecting the live DVD! Nice little surprise.

My tracking number finally works now! But it says they just shipped it yesterday despite the email claming it was sent back on the 9th. :C

Says a monday delivery for me as well.

My pre-order from YGR supposedly shipped on the 9th, but the tracking number keeps coming up as "not available." It's been 5 days & I'm a bit worried about it because that's never happened to me before! lol

 

Sooooooo what about the shorter track lengths on the vinyl?

 

I compared the tracklistings on Discogs since I don't have a physical copy yet, and the vinyl version seems to be just about 3 minutes shorter in total.

 

Just a Little boy: 19 seconds shorter

Little God in My Hands: 35 seconds shorter

She Loves Us: 1 minute and 58 seconds shorter

Oxygen: 12 seconds shorter

 

Total: 3:04 shorter than the CD.
