Thanks for the reply. It looked legit to me, but I wasn't 100% sure. I'm 110% new to this, so I figured it'd be best to get some reassurance from someone who knows what they are talking about. I had a guy PM me with an answer as well, so I'm going to give it a shot and see if I can't secure this for around $300. I am aware of the reissue, and I may have to take that route assuming I don't win the auction to hold me over until I find another original copy. Btw Is there anyway to delete threads? I got my answer , so I'll go ahead and delete this thread rather than adding clutter to the board if I can figure out how. I plan on hanging out here for awhile, so figured I'd have some common courtesy . Thanks again guys!

Greetings all. About 3 days ago I decided I needed a hobby, so I decied I would collect vinyl records of my favorite bands. I already have a few that I received from a family member(a couple of bluegrass & johnn cash records) a long time ago, and this is what got me interested in pursuing this. That, and my love for music. I have decided to take the plunge and try to score my first vinyl purchase. I'm hoping for some input on an eBAY item from someone that knows what they are talking about. I've read various guides on how to spot fakes/bootlegs, and pretty much everything I could regarding collecting over the past couple of days, but this still feels really overwhelming to me right now. I suppose that feeling will disappear once I learn what I'm doing and able to get a good grasp on things. Anyways, I was searching eBAY and came across an item that I would really really love to own. It is the Above LP by Mad Season. The seller states that her husband bought this in 1995 and has been on a shelf for 15 years, provided plenty of pictures, and the reference number checks out on www.originalpressing.com, but they only have 50 feedback. I'm not sure what this goes for either, but the starting price is $69 and I've saw some buy it nows for around $150 and others (I think they still had plastic on them) for $495.00. I've got $250-300 to get my "collection" started with my first purchase of an original pressing, and would love to be able to secure this, assuming its legit. However, even after all of the guides I read, I still have no idea how to spot a fake if that all checks out.
