  1. Was not expecting Meet me in St. Louis and Blakfish to be mentioned, so much love for those bands it's unreal. Check out Shoes and socks off, vocalist of MMISL's solo project (http://shoesandsocksoff.co.uk/) and &U&I (http://andyouandi.bandcamp.com/) new Blakfish band minus Sam Manville

Currently I'm listening to a lot of Adebisi Shank (http://www.nialler9.com/2010/08/16/listen-adebisi-shank-album/) and Fang Island, waiting for new Tera Melos to drop so I can listen to it to death.

  2. Just thought I'd chuck this in here incase anyone is interested

  3. I'd take a set that includes nothing but Vheissu onwards, as much as I love the few songs they play from Illusion and the odd one or two from Artist I can take or leave it. That set is pretty excellent, nice to see them playing Stand And Feel Your Worth. They should play their normal set minus all Vheissu stuff, have an interval, then do Vheissu from start to end, perfect gig.

  4. They are one of the best bands both live and on record, the last couple of times I saw them in the UK they didn't have teppei, so the set wasn't brilliant, but it was still incredible. Next time I see them will be the 10th time, cannot wait

  5. has anyone played skate 3 yet? I've been wanting to check it out. Loved the second one.

Yeah i picked it up on friday and put a good few hours in. If you like the previous ones like i did you'll love this. Ton of new features added makes it well worth picking it up!

I've only played about an hour or so, I'm a little disappointed with a few things. You can change the difficulty setting whenever, I was gonna play it through on normal then again on hardcore, but there doesn't seem much point. Where has hall of meat gone when you bail? Does it only come up when you're doing a hall of meat challenge? And the "story" just seems a little all over the place, I liked in Skate (1) how you worked through magazines working your way up...Saying all this though it's still brilliant, hardcore mode is so rewarding/frustrating

  6. That CD posted above is brilliant. I was going to start a thread like this as I'm in the process of starting up a CD packaging company with this design and a couple of others. The spine is a little thick on this version, it's been thinned up. This is a rerelease of Blakfish's See You In Another City EP on Big Scary Monsters records with bonus tracks made especially for their last show /100

As for favourite packaging I'd have to say Thrice's Alchemy Index is pretty great and this:

Meet Me In St. Louis/Secondsmile split single in handstamped sweetshop bag with black cd fake vinyl. Really simple but really nicely done

  7. thats so sketchy. i think labels should just put rare releases on ebay. fuck the flipper b.s. and beat them at their own game.

im really just bitter i couldnt score this.

I was thinking this aswell, why don't labels make a limited number for the band to ebay off to make a chunk of money for their work, or give them away in competitions (although they'd probably end up on ebay again)
