  1. So it wasn't explained why it happened, but eventually they cancelled the original and ordered one from the other listing with upgraded shipping. They also matched the price of the original copy

What the eff? I, too, had mine preordered for months and they told me about a week ago that they just cancelled the order as they were going to be unable to receive the item, and that was that. I came here to see if that happened to anyone else. I'll try dealing with their customer service now to see if I can't the same deal you did.

EDIT: Well, that was easy. Problem solved, Amazon came through. Their customer service never fails to impress me.

  2. I noticed they messed up printing the tracklisting and listed Cocktail (The vinyl only hidden track at the end of the album) before Don't Pick It Up

More than that, I just gave the record a listen and Cocktail isn't even on there. Bummer, as I never knew that there was a vinyl-exclusive track before this, would have been nice to hear it. Oh well, it sounds great and the olive green is very nice.

  3. I'm looking for someone in the UK (or someone with a UK credit card) to purchase and download some Fratellis FLAC songs from the 7digital UK website (7digital.com) and then send them to me. I will reimburse you the full amount of the purchase through PayPal. I would do it myself but the store won't let me buy anything without a UK credit card. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. These are rare b-sides that are unavailable for digital purchase (or purchase at all, really) here in the states.

  4. Amazon's listing has been updated and now lists the vinyl as blue colored with a release date of September 11th, just like CDUniverse. The price has also been lowered and the label changed to El Camino Media, LLC.

They also added this cool little blurb:

*On the heals of 2014's Super Fake Nice ep which saw sElf featured as iTunes Single Of The Week as well as performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Last Call With Carson Daily comes the 15 year anniversary of the bands groundbreaking lp, Gizmodgery * First time ever on vinyl. (Blue) * Originally released in 2000, Gizmodgery was recorded entirely on children's toy instruments purchased in toy stores. * Upon its original release, Pitchfork wrote about the single, Trunk Fulla Amps: 'Verse by verse, Mahaffey trades off emulating his heroes (Queen, ELO... Danzig?), a sign of his wry sense of humor. The instrumental bridge is simply beautiful, an unexpected but somehow perfect transition into a smooth Brazilian-flavored interlude on subtly rhythmic guitar and an uptempo bossanova beat. *Bonus track 'Resurrect' was previously only available on Japanese release.
  5. via El Camino:

"Holy shit, its been 15 years since Gizmodgery was first released! To commemorate this special occasion, Gizmodgery finally gets the vinyl issue that it so rightly deserves. This is not just any vinyl, this suckas on Limited Edition Cayan Blue vinyl, yo! Featuring the hit songs, 'Trunk Fulla Amps', 'Ordinaire', 'Dead Man' and many more, the vinyl also includes the edited version of 'Trunk Fulla Amps' as well as the Japan-only b-side 'Resurrect'. Pre-Order the vinyl now and it will be shipped a full 3 weeks before it hits stores on September 11th. As if this all isn't enough, as a bonus, when you pre-order you will instantly get lossless AIFF download files of the whole album! Crazy, right?"

    11. 9 Lives

    13. Trunk Fulla Amps (edit)
    14. Resurrect

I'm stoked for this to finally be getting the vinyl treatment. I'm a little bummed by the inclusion of the Trunk Fulla Amps edit, as I've always thought it to be an unnecessary addition and was hoping that they would nix it for the vinyl release. I am, however, delighted to see Resurrect on there which is a great song and a strong album closer, IMO.

  6. Well, I just e-mailed them about my order and not even an hour later I received an e-mail saying that my order was ready for pick up at the store. How about that? Could have been a coincidence, I guess, but who cares! My records are in!

Picked up my order today on the way to work and it turns out that it was a coincidence, as my order arrived with the shipment this morning. Haven't had a chance to dive into the discs yet, but the packaging is very impressive!

  7. I ordered the minute these were available on the website and had them ship to store. I just now received an e-mail that it has shipped, however it's been listed as shipped on the website since the 16th. Odd, but as long as I do eventually get my records I'll be fine.

So the consensus here seems to be that this splatter TOYPAJ does not sound as good as the SRC release. I passed on TOYPAJ and just ordered Untitled and Neighborhoods, how do those pressings sound compared to their non-splatter counterparts courtesy of Mightier Than Sword and DGC, respectively?

  8. Count me in for wanting the Jet Set Radio series on vinyl. This deal that Data Discs has struck with SEGA sounds very promising in that regard.

To have the SEGA produced tracks (Naganuma) on vinyl would be cool enough, but can you imagine a COMPLETE soundtrack for each game with every song?? I dream of owning those Latch Brothers tracks from JSRF on wax.

  9. Those first three Panic! At The Disco albums are in serious need of a repress, through Hot Topic or elsewhere. I really hope that happens sometime in the near-future, though I will only be picking up Pretty. Odd. and Vices & Virtues. The latter was only ever pressed through Hot Topic, so I hope there are plans to press it again. The prices these albums are fetching online is ridiculous.
