Elvis Costello "This Year's Model" Help
theholygoof posted a topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Hi all -- a few months ago I picked up a beautiful 1st UK Radar Pressing of This Year's Model, with original shrink with hype sticker ("Free album with this single") the bonus 45, and custom inner sleeve. I won't lie to you -- the thing is unbelievable! Question for some of you more seasoned collectors: The following text is etched next to the run-off groove on side 1: "Special Pressing No. 003 Ring Moira on 434 3232" for your special prize." The Internets are saying the first 1,000 people received a photo and badge that said "Made in 1955 for 1984." However, there are conflicting reports -- some say it's a hoax, others say it was real. Haven't seen any pics, but can anyone prove or disprove this? Much obliged, friends... holygoof -
TMBG Flood Custom Inner Sleeve?
theholygoof replied to theholygoof's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Hey seafoamgreen -- Yeah, that's the only downer -- it is a BMG pressing. However, I must admit I was quite surprised to see it at all. Mainly because I too have noticed that either version doesn't list all that frequently out there on the Internets. -

Cool -- thanks, man. Much appreciated! -
Hi all -- I picked up a used copy of They Might Be Giants' Flood at the local Half Price Books last week, but it only had a standard paper inner sleeve. Anyone know if this originally had a custom inner sleeve? The lyrics are inside the gatefold cover, so I'm just curious if the copy is complete or not. Thanks, holygoof

Few months back I scored a copy of Nick Drake's first US LP for $7 at Half Price Books. Not sure what it's worth, but I felt like I'd just done a tray of jello shots.
