  1. re: Skywave, do you have a link to the re-issue information?

Kanine Records is putting this out for RSD.

Also Kanine put out a great record from the band Young Prisms, In Between. It's a couple of years old but a great 'gaze record folks may have missed out on here and is still available too. They kind of have a Slowdive vibe to them. I love this song.

  2. Susurrate I'd love to see repressed, LOVE IT!! I did end up buying a CD for about $20 with a group of other CDs like Stella Luna: Stargazer and Astrobrite: 8 Candy. Got lucky on EOST 10" Fluidtrance Centauri from someone on DF for cheap.

That's a great score. Good music is good music no matter what format this on. Loving this genre also means a lots of great albums from the late 90's to early 2000's are going to be CD only releases. Thankfully a few of the gems are getting the vinyl reissue. I can't believe how excited I am for the Skywave reissue.

Claire records (which is still going and helped with the Airiel Winks & Kisses reissue) put originally Susurrate out in the US. Maybe we should be asking them? Who'd rather see a Susurrate & Starrgazer reissue?

  3. I just signed up to post in this thread. I've lurking on this thread for over a year. I love shoegazing, and I got to see the whole UK (MBV/Ride/Slowdive etc) movement rise and fall back when I was in college. I'm happy to see the whole present day revival.

For any interested in the Saint Marie pledge - even if just picking up the albums later and not pledging - I bugged them abit about wanting to hear the three albums (they DM'ed me on Twitter and asked 'why do you need to hear them first? I'll upload them in a couple of days')  :)

Made my day lol. Because I wasn't immersed in the shoegaze scene when it was happening, so 99% of these bands are new to me, shoegaze noob, and I grew up in the 70's wasting money buying albums based one song on the radio, and then the rest of the album was swill.

This is a weird batch to release for a Shoegaze Archive release. First, to me these are still more resent (I'd call 1989-93 the original Shoegaze years). These are much later. Also, Wyatt's idea of shoegaze is much different than (noise, wall of guitars, fuzz, psychedelic, pop song sensibilities). Calling February shoegaze is kinda of pushing it for me (They're from my city and I've had to sit through them open for other bands). I do like The Emerald Down but I'd call them Dream-pop and they're also later. Even the very short lived Captured Tracks stuck to the 89-93 time period.

But still, bless Wyatt for the Secret Shine reissue.

The past releases at least hit from the golden era (89-93) and there's still so much to reissue from that time. For example, the incredible The Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa - Susurrate that came out in '93 and is listed on discogs for $400 (I even think the CD goes for $$)
