Bank account is in good shape, so I'm taking another stab at grabbing these presses.
I'm looking for Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers:
-the 1st, original press. Black vinyl with white and pink split label on the b-side.
-repress, white colored vinyl.
Also, if anyone has the Dark Was the Night 7" they appear on, that would be helpful as well.
PM me, thanks!

Actually, a number 11 recently went for just over 50. Then again, that's super a super low number.
bf: PM me with what you're looking to get for it on here, or let me know if you put it on Ebay.
-
It's figure 8. I'm not really sure what it goes for. Some dude on ebay is asking for $250. I'm looking for no where near that. Definitely under $100.
I might end up ebaying that one, but would rather not have to deal with the fees so if I can get a good offer I'll take it.
I'm interested in it, but they've been all over the place. Originally they were going for around 100, even over. Now I've been watching a couple on Ebay and they've gone for like 30-40.

Does the ManOrch have the CD with it, too?
Sorry, missed this. No I gave that away.
-
Bump. Still haven't heard back from Man Orch. dude. PM offers

Manchester Orchestra Sale Pending.
-
Bump, open to offers. Not looking for trades.
-
A couple good things, but pretty sparse. The Girls album was 90 cents off...which is a waste of time.

Low-Songs for a Dead Pilot (Orig. Krank Press) 20
Manchester Orchestra-Mean Everything To Nothing 14
Manchester Orchestra has never been played, Low is in excellent condition and rare original press. Both included Paypal and shipping.

A friend of mine, who works at Neptoon Records in Vancouver, BC, bought the last coloured copy out of the 10 that her store got. So she was feeling pretty awesome about that until she opened it - scuffs all over both records straight out of the shrinkwrap. Needless to say, she was quite unhappy.
My black copy, however, has nary a scratch. Buyer beware I guess...
Interesting. Mine definitely had pressing residue, but nothing my brush didn't take care of. I find almost all new records have this and it's not really unexpected or an issue, perhaps this one had a little more? I don't know...that's unfortunate.

I got the regular audiophile 180 gram version and upon further inspection realized that the violet (sides 3 and 4) is colored and the high(sides 1 and 2) is black is this the case for anyone else?
I just bought a black copy to go with my US and UK violet ones, and mine is exactly the same. The first LP is black, but the second is a more red violet than my dark blue translucent ones.
-
Mine's on the back bottom right hand corner. Looks like very tiny typewriter print.I feel silly asking, but whereabouts are these numbered? I've got the purple Euro press and I can't seem to find a number on it anywhere. Also, why are you flipping this bud? I know tons of people on The National's message board that are searching for this since a lot are going up on Ebay. I just searched and you've got another copy up...
I'm not going to get into the flipping argument, but with this band and release it's hard to not be disappointed. It's not even going to get you that much more with shipping/fees... :-/

A couple things:
kidamnesiac: it's actually not out of 2000, as there have been numbers higher than 2000. There's a discussion about it on The National's message board.
markovianprocess: the colored euro press isn't numbered. I have no idea how many were pressed, but those aren't numbered and don't come with the download card like the US.
I just got my Euro press and the color is much more appropriate than the dark translucent US press. But in general, two great colors for records!

Oh yeah, I know. I only buy full lengths from DFA. But yeah, how do you not press an album on vinyl for the release date? Especially in his genre, vinyl is in many ways a must.
-
Also, that's pretty poor of DFA to not have such a big release ready. I mean, plenty of people will still buy it...but I doubt they'll sell nearly as many as if they had them on shelves today when all the reviews/press is out.
-
Haha yeah, this is one I definitely will be grabbing.
-
Yeah, I was just in Brooklyn for a concert with The National. Definitely a nice place, especially in the less busy areas. Made the trip to Other Music which is ideal for indie vinyl, and have a great used selection as well.
Ah you went to the BAM show. You didn't happen to take the bus over from the listening party did you? Was there an awareness by people at BAM that the bus was there and what had happened with it?
gheorge77- Note I don't think Academy is a bad store, but when you are visiting you only have so much time to hit everything. I would just select others that's all. In my opinion if you're going to go for used, it's worth the trip to Princeton. It's easily the best used record store I've ever been in (and it's not even close).
No, I wasn't aware until I checked the web later. In fact, we got to Other Music around 5:45, so I figured I'd shop and then try to get in the annex. Then when I came out they were all inside and the guy said it was closed and only 50 tonight. I didn't really care because I just wanted to hear the outtakes they had with the headphones....but yeah, I was glad they did that. Just wish I would have known haha...free tickets!

Haha, I enjoy Ryan Adams...but after listening to a sample of this I passed. It doesn't sound like the Ryan Adams I like, so oh well.

i saw in the sale thread that "the smiths" albums were on clearance at HT. unfortunately, my HT doesn't sell vinyl. could someone do me a huge favor and grab me a copy of queen is dead, s/t, and strangeways here we come?
i'll pay more than cost plus shipping to make it worth it.
^and lol we posted that at the same time
Haha, hopefully someone can help us out!
-
It someone could grab me The Smiths reissues they have, I'd pay cost, shipping, and a little extra. I've heard with the double they are like 5 dollars. My HT has no good vinyl.

should definitely make the test pressings "contest" open to interpunk buyers as well......that color sounds the sickest...
Haha, that'd be nice. But he's trying to promote his label and sales through it. Notice that only the black LP sold out.
-
Yeah, I have to agree with you Virgil. This new album seems to be more of the same...but missing something. Still decent, and I'm hoping to catch them live as well.
-
There's a few more colors that i'm sure will sound the same.
MAYBE... im just weird man, i like my vinyl to be black. it might not REALLY sound better, but i think it does. I'd almost rather not mess with it for 30 dollars if i have to settle for something.
So if only the triple crown press was available would you have just not gotten this album on vinyl? That seems ridiculous.
No offense, I didn't get a black either. But honestly, it's not the end of the world. If you really think that...then don't buy it. But it'll sound the same, and your theory is the opposite of trying to get only the most special color--yet equally ridiculous.
