Okay, so I'm going to sound a little nuts here. But hear me out. Pink Floyd Dark Side 180 reissue sounds amazing to me. I just put it on for the first time a couple weeks ago. Hearing the tone arm itself on the recording adds a new level I would have never imagined to the music. And, this is the part where I sound a little crazy but I swear Pink Floyd designed the album knowing this. It's like the whole, Dark Side of Oz thing... You know how Pink Floyd loves using so many different elements and effects. It is like the vinyl itself - the record itself- is another element of sound control. You can hear every cannon and peak in the vinyl. It is seriously like hearing a new album. I really think (okay not literally think maybe) that they knew that the album would sound a certain way on a record and designed it for that.

Wow.

Wait, just to be clear, are you saying the Columbia Half Speed is the correct one to purchase?
-
Awesome Thanks for the input.

It's funny because the Debut III is so highly recommended and sold but it lacks so many features. I guess it's just made very well and reliable and strong and that's why people love it?

I have a Debut III so no pitch control. Unless someone knows a trick I'm not sure of.

Okay. Found the video where I heard my initial point. He doesn't mention what pressing. I'm glad everyone has come in here and commented that it's okay to get The Wall after all. Anyway, it's this video around the 3:00 mark. http://youtu.be/DpqsZRBsSlA

That's neat. Hoffman will be half speed masters then right?
-
That's what I kinda assumed. RSD sounds gimmicky.
-
Lol.

Brilliant!

Finally someone in here making me feel less crazy. Haha.

I recently learned that Pink Floyd's "The Wall" is not a smart purchase for vinyl because the tempo and pitch are askew due to a need to fit the whole album on the record. Are there other stories like this one? Albums to avoid on vinyl? Thanks
