And while I can't find it, there is a great quote about a good 7" single by Mac.

I'm curious as to what this quote/7" is.

I'd also recommend 'unheard music' by Christie Piper. It's a book of photos of the great punk/hardcore/emo bands from '91-'97

While I dont have the book in front of me I think the quote from Mac is from the liner notes of the Tossing Seeds album.

Our Noise is a great read, I wish more music books took the oral history format.

  2. I would go for Live and Dangerous Casey, it´s a great overview of that time, Johnny the Fox is great as well if you´d prefer a studio album.

This thread reminds me that for like 6 months at University I had a picture of Phil Lynott in my matriculation ID instead of me, no one ever questioned it either even thogh we couldn´t look more different.

  6. I can do top 3,

    1. Dinosaur Jr

    2. Superchunk

    3. Kiss

After that it's too difficult, I really like Ben Deily era Lemonheads for example but don't particularly care for the later stuff. I also love most Teenage Fanclub but their last albums I don't really like too much so i don't think they can go in the top 5.

  7. Heres why I'm interested

The book is called "Along came a Spider" ( I think it's also a film), in the book 2 children are kidnapped and the police visit the young boys room to try and get clues, among other things this little boy had a poster of Sebastian Bach from Skid Row on his wall which surprised me as I think the boy was supposed to be in 3rd grade,

I don't know why this surprised me.

  8. Ok I'm close to completeing my Superchunk collection but I'm still looking for the following:

Superchunk-Tossing Seeds Merge records black vinyl

I'd be up for buying or if you wanted to trade I could trade you for:

Superchunk-Tossing Seeds-red vinyl on City Slang+Superchunk-On the mouth yellow vinyl( I have a spare)+ I'd give you money for postage or another record if I have anything you would like,

    PM me if you're interested

    Thanks

    Bill

  9. Only really got into The Misfits, always was more of a Danzig(the band) man, sacrilidge I know.

For Misfits though gotta go with Walk among us, that lyric in Skulls "and the blood drains down like devil's rain, we'll bathe tonight" is one of my favourite ever lyrics.
