  1. You seem quite bitter, where did you get this strange idea that records aren't music to me?
  2. I'm not a flipper as mentioned a page back. Wait a sec, Dave are you saying it has a point now...?
  3. abovetheearth - I've PM'd you a link to the app. also a demo sign in with a couple of records added.
  4. Discogs is king and will likely continue to be - they have the best public data on the planet when it comes to records - they know it and that's why they opened up their API to developers so we can keep getting more useful stuff out of it.
  5. That's a quite a deep question there - what's the value of anything and why? 1. For me, records are worth however much I believe them to be - its completely subjective. But then if a record is rare / famous and in demand, people will expect to pay more for it - its just supply demand. 2. Records aren't fungible like oil or commodities, they are simply collectables / antiques and so pricing is subjective. Which is why discogs is so successful - a half decent torch is better than no torch.
  6. Thanks - this is all useful for me to understand how people tend to use discogs. You've def hit on a couple of points I'm trying to address with this app. At the bare minimum, this is what the focus of the app is. Do PM me to give it a go - I should mention no personal details are required to sign up.
  7. Hey above theearth, its based on discog's own data, it does a few extra calculations on that data to determine things like 'demand' and 'accuracy'. Discogs API contains a lot more detailed data than is publicly accessible through their website front end.
  8. If you have a lot of records, it saves having to look them up. If I am buying records, its a way of spotting a good deal.
  9. Neither do I, I'm a collector and am curious about the prices which is why I built the app. Nevermind though, I can see it might not be aimed at you.
  10. $0.03 is not bad for 24hrs. But that's just the drift from the exchange rates anyway, nothing to write home about. jacobraccula & tellallyourfriends let's see you vinyl veterans pick some records and do better, PM me for a link. chrs
