  1. I'm so excited, flying to Toronto tomorrow morning until aug 25th and then to Chicago from aug. 25th to aug 30th. If you think you know anything worth seeing, visiting, eating (veggie) then please post in this thread, thanks a lot. I'm not asking for the standard sights, guess we'll learn about them, but tipps from locals an basically anything are always appreciated.

As for Vinyl: In Toronto, I think I'll go to Hits & Misses for some records, whats good also? There are some shows in the week I'm staying there too, so it should be cool. (heard of brutal knights @ rancho relaxo, have heart at the cathedral, gipsy/title fight and also alpha & omega at some day)

And for Chicago, I know the places since I lived here some months, but post anyway if there are shows at that time, thanks!

  2. go, very impressive. im a huge fan of cross processed film. use to do a bunch of it back in the day.. haven't picked up a camera in years though..

thanks. i really like cross processed film too, especially because you never really know how one will turn out, depending on how old the chemicals are and stuff. fuji velvia or kodak ektachrome bring some great, crazy saturated/colored results. but like many other things, if you just cross your photos all the time it gets boring und you start to shoot "normal" color negative again. used kodak ektar 100 for some rolls now and i just love it. really natural colors and fine grain.

  3. my little cousins and I were craving some yesterday but we wouldve had to wait 45 minutes, we went with little Ceasers instead...it was still yummy, but Costco has the best cheap pizza around.

Generally speaking, Little Caesars is disgusting.

qft. i would not even use the word "pizza" for it, damn that was nasty.

  4. here's mine:

From the top. It looks black under normal light.

But when you take a picture of it and there's a really bright light flashed on it, it looks like this.

This is what mine looks like also. Got it at an OWTH Euro show some weeks ago. Just stumbled across this thread while adding the record to my list, not really knowing what pressing/edition it should be. For me it doesn't quite match anything in the pressing info. Anyone any idea?

  5. I somehow didn't expect this getting the vinyl treatment but found out about this today:

After numerous requests, Have A Nice Life's debut double-album DEATHCONSCIOUSNESS is finally available in vinyl!

Two records, gatefold jacket with color artwork (a slightly re-worked version of the original artwork), and includes a full-printing of the original 70-page booklet (the last and final printing there will ever be). This is a short run - only 500 copies - so if you are interested, please pre-order. Thank you.

Below is the description of the original release.

"'Deathconsciousness' is probably a perfect record." - Last Train To Cool

"...comes as a wonderful surprise for me in 2008." - Built On A Weak Spot

"The most beautiful album of 2008 has already arrived." - sputnik music

"Sets a rather high bar for what new or little known bands are capable of producing on their own" - scenepointblank

"Words fail to describe the beauty of this album." - people united for peace

"delivers an emotional wallop that seems unparalleled. 5 stars." - the rock blogger

"A record of truly epic proportions...a new standard-bearer for what can be accomplished with two people." - 24 Hour Party Pooper

Over 5 years in the making, "Deathconsciousness" is the debut double album by the band HAVE A NICE LIFE. Dense and impenetrable, it's unique mix of shoegaze, new wave, industrial and noise has drawn comparisons to the likes of JOY DIVISION, MY BLOODY VALENTINE, and SUNN0)). It comes with a 75-page booklet, written by a Massachusetts history professor, examining the deep religious symbology the record is built upon, and presents, for the first time, an exploration of the dark and mysterious cult of the Antiocheans.
