  1. I saw Buckethead Friday night and it was fantastic.  I didn't think I would like the backing tracks.  However, it just kept the focus on Buckethead.  My only complaint is that the venue oversold the show by what seemed to be about 100 people.  We left our spots during intermission and couldn't get back on the floor.  The silver lining is that Buckethead can still draw ~700 people in a small city like Madison, WI!

  2. Also worth noting...  No loudness, compression, or brickwalling issues with Blues for the Red Son. You have to turn the volume up really high for moderate listening levels.  This is great for dynamic range and sound quality, but makes surface noise louder and more obvious compared to the music (lower signal to noise).  The noise is much more noticable, especially during quiet passages (e.g. sections of Thong Song).

I will proabably buy Sky Valley too. Hard to pass up for $18.00

  3. My Blues for the Red Sun is pretty noisy with about 10 "pops".  It looks clean, is pretty flat, and sounds good in spots where there isn't noise, but overall I am a bit disappointed.  I cleaned it with a VPI record cleaning machine before playing and again with Mofi deep clean solution, but no improvement.

I am going to wait to buy the rest to see if mine was an outlier or if they are all noisey.

  4. What kind of record player do you have??? Chances are, it does not have an amplification stage in it. You will need to hook your record player up to a phono pre-amp or a receiver/preamp with a phono stage. From there, you hook up your speakers with speaker wire to an amplifier/receiver.

Hope that helps.....or maybe I am just confused by your post????
